Majority rules in this world my friend. That's why we have a voting system remember?!?!? You can make some people happy some of the time yadda yadaa...

The smiley was me laughing because your post was funny... silly actually

Why is it silly? Nevermind because I know that will lead into a childish "i'm smarter than you" thing..let me ask you a hypothetical question. Let's just say that the 9/11 families hadn't voiced an opinion either way..do you honestly think that you (and that's a collective you..not just you personally) would still say not to release the Pentagon video? I don't. Not with the amount of conspiracies around about it. You say majority rules but has anyone asked the "majority" of these families their opinion on the video being shown? I see things on the news everyday that are just as bad. I think that people saying they are advocating murder or are committing a crime or even that they making this guy famous are reaching. I'm sure that some people think it shouldn't be aired but even if its "tasteless"..its not glorifying this guy or advocating murder!

Did any of you watch World Trade Center or Flight 93? I didn't. Because I know I don't want to know what those people went through. I just can't bring myself to watch it. I made the mistake of watching the Nick Berg video and it was the worst thing I've ever watched and wish I hadn't. I think the cell video of the gunshots is a lot worse than this nutjob's video because it is actual footage of someone being murdered whether you can see it or not. I turned the channel when they showed that clip.

true some assholes on here don't get the it i for one agree with your points fuck if the families said it was in bad taste for NBC to air the video that is good enough for me and obviously the majority of the viewing public agreess with your point it holds water .......

let me guess, everyone who doesn't agree with you is an "asshole"...?

Seriously, I can't believe this is still going...it seems that some are taking this tragedy and making it their own...

this thing has made people angry...anger is funny emotion and often clouds thinking and thoughts...some take anger and channel it elsewhere...and since the shooter is not around...that anger is being projected on NBC and anyone who thinks it was appropriate to show the videos...

I wonder, morning, on all the so-called news shows, VT students, staff and families were "sharing their story"....why is that ok...? where's the outrage against the profiteering from them...

I get the fact that so many are angry....but projecting that anger on others is not going to help....

Statistics show there's always those select few that get a hard on for this type of thing. Promoting it in the news seeds the idea to make them feel "normal" as though other people are doing it and it is socially acceptable in a way, as society appears to be embracing it by wanting to read about it. Normal thought process does not apply to these individuals. We see one thing, they see something completely different.

or maybe the person would see it and go "man, i dont want to end up like that kid... maybe i should get help with the stuff im dealing with now." we dont know. certainly not enough to say this footage should never see the light of day on the tenuous grounds that it might inspire copycats. or maybe it'll convince a few nra sheep that MAYBE it's not such a good thing that a kid so obviously mentally disturbed was able to get his hands on a semiautomatic weapon without any trouble at all. who knows?
