Well I'm sure more of them do these days.

But it would be nice if people were paid for ALL their working hours.
Think that would be fair. That way I'm sure we'd see a sharp increase in the wages being paid to women!

I'm gonna risk eneterint this withotu having read it all. Helen, I'm gonna risk a blast and say that you have taken a pretty "testosterone" approach here yourself, starting the thread with a blast of anger.

I will say that in principal I agree though, but I have always preferred to comment that ceratin cultures and sub-cultures have too much yang and not enough yin, puttiong things out of balance, which is never a good thing.

Yep... and I really don't mean to be coming across and complaining that I don't have equality. Like I said, I'm perfectly aware of how lucky I am to HAVE the freedoms which women across the world DON'T have... and don't even have the opportunity to fight for!

I really can't imagine living in a world where I'd have to 'put up and shut up'

Nah!! It's cool Helen! I can understand just how frustrated you must get sometimes, I know I do! It's like every time you turn around, things have moved forward, oh no wait, no they haven't!!

It's really hard to watch the same old system, and wish for something different.

We are VERY lucky in Western culture, but I still think that we've got a long way to go to get true equality particularly in politics.

And I'm not even gonna get started on the horrific things I see happening to women and children in poorer countries. It's just wrong.

Yes! Everyone has the right to a fair days pay for a fair days work, and equal opportunity to participate in the education, religion, and the politics of their world. It's something that I would dearly love to see in my lifetime.
