Stop the war!I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire0

whoop de fucking do for them.... they are obviously the good people
did you know that kids die every day in America by finding their dads gun in a cupboard somewhere and they end up shooting their sister in the face!!
oh well, never mind them... as long as the 'good people' dont fire them at each other then everything must be ok right?
twisted logic from some people!oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

i heard on the news this morning that 3 girls are dead and a significant amount of girls are fighting for their lives with head wounds...this just breaks my heart...imagine the families involved? The notes left by the killer said he had a grudge from 20 years ago.0

PaperPlates wrote:is this the fault of gunmakers, lawmakers, or the foolish father who let his children get hold of his gun, or didnt bother to teach gun safety to his children? Or is it GW's?
it is the fault of a society that can't seem to get out of its own bloody way.
i know there are law abiding gun owners, but are you not prepared to make a sacrifice in order that no child (maybe even your own child) ever again is shot by intention or accident.
and yes i know the criminals will still have their guns and be able to attain them, but we will deal with that.hear my name

its the fault of the father.. but if the father didnt have the gun in the first place then all that kids would find is his dads porn stash!!
ergo, no available gun = 1 alive kid!!
regardless of who is it fault!oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

I think the real problem "pro gun" people have with banning guns, and the part that "anti-gun" people hear us say, but choose to dismiss or ignore, is that if you take guns away from responsible people, the only one's left with weapons will be the criminals. And the fact that people have been killing each other since welllllll before guns were invented. Removing guns doesnt = no violent deaths. To think so, borders on being clueless. Why go home

i'm not sure i understand...you're saying the responsible gun owners should keep their guns...does that mean the duck hunters with their 12 gauge, something like that? Because where i come from the idea of having guns just to feel safe is non-existent. I'm not bashing, i really would like your view...0 -

And your logic is sound? How about we outlaw butter knifes next. Or what about outlawing the binding that tied these girls up? Or how about outlawing the truck that drove him to the school?
Anti-gun people make me sick. They always want a nice easy way to explain everything and divert all blame from the individiual. That's the left way, do not blame the one that is responsible for their own actions.0 -

butter knives = designed for spreading toast
binding = designed to tie up a multititude of stuff (not girls ankles however)
truck = designed to drive person from A to B
gun = designed to splatter brains onto the floor
and i'm not diverting the blame from the guy.. he was a sick psycho.. but with a gun he becomes a murdering sick pyschooh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

the real problem is that you have no idea.
australia, japan, UK, sweden, etc etc etc... all have a very very strict handgun policy... some have even banned them altogether and yes, in all of these countries (and more) the amount of gun-related deaths does decline
and of course criminals in these countries have guns and access to them, but normal law-abiding citizens dont!!! and yet the amount of violent deaths has decreased overall.... thats strange, as by your logic surely the criminals of the UK should be rampaging around the UK killing everyone as we have no guns to defend ourselves.... and yet strangely enough you have many many more deaths per capita due to a handgun than the next 24 richest countries in the world COMBINED!!!!oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

you couldnt kill me with a butter knife and binding due to the fact i'm a hard motherfucker, but that aside...
2 boys drive to columbine high, on them they have a butter knife each, some binding and plenty of attitude... resultant death-toll = 0
2 boys drive to columbine high, on them they have a semi-automatic each, some binding and plenty of attitude... resultant death-toll = 16

So this thread has been all over the place since it started, but the bottom line is that some sick fuck preyed on the youngest and most innocent little girls, bound them, lined them up and shot them in the head before killing himself. Last week, some sick fuck preyed on high school girls that he hand picked, sexually molested them, and then shot and killed one before killing himself. You cannot blame this type of behavior on anything other than the fact that there are a lot of sick fucks in this world, all over the world, and nobody is safe anywhere! Its sad, but its reality. And if you are a parent, as I am, its enough to make you want to never let your child leave the house, but that is NOT reality, so you send your kids off to school every day, or out of the house to play or walk the dog or whatever, and you just hold your breath until they come back home safe again, then you breath a huge sigh of relief and wait until the next time they go back out the door. I have no idea what makes a person prey on innocent children, its a level of just pure evil that I cannot relate to, but its ridiculous to blame it on any one geographic area or on a political party, etc;
Like I said, there are sick fucks EVERYWHERE! Now lets hope we can make it through another day without having to see something like this happen AGAIN!0 -

i agree with you mostly... but unfortunately it is geographic specific... the continent of Europe doesnt have as many incidents as the US, so there has to be something more to it...
but as a parent of 2 young girls i feel nothing but sympathy for those families dealing with this crime, even the family of the man that did must be recognised... they'll have to grow up knowing their dad was a fucking headcase who executed little girls :( :(
but the prevelant trend shows the US to have a higher number of these incidences, the cause of which is more than someone being mental... Sweden has a huge per-capita suicide rate, which would imply some form of mental breakdown but they dont feel the need to take out a school before killing themselves!oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

I view it like this. IF you have ever committed a violent crime, a sexual crime, or a robbery, you should not be able to legally own a gun. Period. However Im in touch with reality enough to know that all the laws in the world won't stop such people from getting a gun if they really want one. Or a knife, or a home made bomb, or whatever floats their crazy ass boat. Therefore, it becomes necessary for some to feel as tho the only way they can fully protect their family from just such people, is to also own a gun. And sure, there are your hunters, your target shooters, and your collectors who own guns for entirely different (and harmless) reasons. Take away guns, they'll stab you. Take away knives, they'll beat you. I'd wonder what percentage of rapes, burglaries, muggings, etc are actually even committed by someone carrying a gun. Ill assume not as many as some of you and abroad seem to think.
Safety is only one of many reasons that law abiding, good people want and demand their right to own a gun.Why go home

A huge per-capita suicide rate? What % were with guns? Fuckin swedes and their lax gun laws! Ban guns there, and suicide will stop?dunkman1974 wrote:i agree with you mostly... but unfortunately it is geographic specific... the continent of Europe doesnt have as many incidents as the US, so there has to be something more to it...
If it was ZERO incidents in these other countries, I'd think you had some kind of point. Frequency of occurence is not a reflection of gun laws, but rather population, media, society in general, etc. IMOWhy go home
