The fact that no one is asking about the motive shows how wrong it is to have caucasian groups!
Maybe if everyone, even crackers, took the chip off their shoulders we'd all realize that ...gasp...we're different, not better, just different. Just like there are art clubs, athletic clubs, language clubs people have different interests.
the NAACP in the article said that her motive appeared fine...he was worried about what would happen after she left. All this pissing and moaning is over hypotheticals.make sure the fortune that you seek...is the fortune that you need0 -

and this club from the original article was supposed to be european heritage--what is miller's 'white culture'?
When they say European heritage, it pretty much means "white". Come on use some brain power.America...the greatest Country in the world.0 -

Saying that something is "typical" IS stereotyping!
Are you serious?
Ok, white men never oppressed anyone, never hurt anyone, never did anything wrong.
Saying otherwise, saying it's typical, or that it was related to white people at all is stereotyping.I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. but don't you think that minorities are more justified in having a chip on their shoulders?
I am not saying its productive, but it sure seems understandable to me.
An aggressor can't be the one to ask for healing....they started it, so they need to live with the bi-products of their actions!0 -

i think as long as people think they are justified in having chips on their shoulders, we can never make progress. I can def agree that it seems understandable. But for me it goes back to people on both sides of the issue saying we need to move forward, but as soon as race can be contrued (rightly or wrongly) as an issue...it all too often is.make sure the fortune that you seek...is the fortune that you need0 -
Free Country, getting upset about somebodies history club is a little ridiculous and it's protected in the Bill of Rights.
It's semantics.
What does it really matter if a group of people sit in a room and read about European history? My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0 -

That is the kicker.
Sure, some guys with beige/pinkish skin did some shit to some guys with black/brownish skin, some time in the past. But that's not everyone, most of those pink and brown people are dead now. Things have changed a lot.
Not to mention Africa sold the slaves to Brittain and the U.S.
The problem we have now is people hanging on to those events from the past. I agree it's important to understand how we got to the point we are at, but it's more important to examine how we are now.I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. you make a great point......we can't forget the past, but we need to try and avoid letting it diminish our future!....easier said then done, however.0 -

he/she's talking about the fact that white peoples don't all have the same heritage, which is why it should be explained as to what you consider your white heritage... i think it's pretty clear, even for a white french guy..."L'homme est né libre, et partout il est dans les fers"
