Ohhh this is juicy... Now, it is to my knowledge that Democrats have been ranting about "George Bush is creating more terrorists." Now it would seem to me that George Bush holding office would be advantageous to terrorist leaders if this holds true for terrorist recruiting."Sarcasm: intellect on the offensive"

neither are doing me any favors...

It's all how you digest it I assume. Personally, I think the administration's handling of the border is reprehensible. Somehow I feel horribly betrayed for missing the "Train-o-Brainwash" that was supposed to have told me differently. I'm sure I'll come around...
But your words are appreciated.

GOP ad was the funniest thing I've seen in a while the only thing that worries me is that many people will be motivated by the scare mongering and propaganda and continue to vote for a party who have done nothing but further alienate the USA from the remainder of the world and also internally to create a wider gap between the have and have nots......

this is what bothers me about this ad. sure it's offensive and blatantly manipulative. it's the most crass exploitation of the sept 11 tragedy i have ever seen, and it's kinda sickening. but it's no more than what id expect from the party that has parlayed the death of thousands of americans into a political football allowing them to screw their constituency (im not talking americans in general or liberals, im talking even their supporting republicans, most repubs i know, even the die hards, feel they've been betrayed and sold out by dubya and his inept admin).
what worries me is that i dont have enough faith in the american people to see through the bullshit. im afraid the ad will work and even those conservatives i know who have finally seen what a horrible job their party is doing of handling the country's business, will buy into the shameless exploitation and fear-mongering of this ad and continue to vote for the people they know have let them down... solely becos those evil, scary dems will invite bin laden into the white house and help him plan more attacks (which is ridiculous). im afraid of this more in terms of what it says about the american people than policy (which can always be righted if the right people get into office). my faith and confidence in their basic decency and intelligence is already badly shaken over the past few years and falling for this bullshit AGAIN would pretty much destroy it.0 -

Seems like you're doing your part to widen the gap. Well done.
Perhaps your culture has taught you that political gain comes through assassination - I understand thats how some people are raised, but to me that is an abhorrent notion. I hope you get better."I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080 -

They only see that their own lives are surrounded by comfort and convenience. They fail to realize that these problems are growing bigger and bigger and will eventually effect them, as well. It seems that the only way to get people to wake up and start caring is for some of this shit to start directly effecting them too. That's the only thing that might shake the apathy off.
Well, arguably, 9-11 was a huge disaster and could have done this. But it didn't ... All it did was lead to more violence and warfare. I don't know what you guys have in mind, but its pretty freaking hard to see how further disasters are going to cause people in the U.S. to embrace peace and/or a liberal sociopolitical agenda, whichever goal you guys want more.0 -

I mean where they actually see the harm their own govt is doing to them and elsewhere. They don't seem to notice the erosion of their rights and the police state they seem to be setting up...but there may come a time where you can't ignore it any longer. If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

I actually agree with this point ... People don't see it well enough. I guess we differ a bit on how to make people see.0 -

I 'spose we do. You can't force anyone to see anything and people are so selfish that they really dont care as long they have their comfort no matter how false it really is.If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.
