That's a non sense argument. The justice system in our societies is based on reason not emotional judgment. The pain of an individual cannot decide the course of action for a whole society, or you legitimate vengeance and vendetta and just let everyone deal with criminals by themselves.

Honestly though, i've never really thought that capital punishment offers much in the way of true justice anyway. If it were my children, it wouldn't make me feel any better for the guy who hurt them to be killed by government officials. If I were to be the one to kill him in the same brutal fashion... that MIGHT make me feel a little better, but for only a brief time. At the end of the day my kids are still gone. i honestly think i would feel better knowing the fucker was suffering, every day for the rest of his life (i would also like to be allowed to come by everyday and inflict a little suffering myself ) that seems more like justice to me.

Of the people i've met that have suffered sexual abuse none of them have ever said they're abusers should get the death penalty.

What will it accomplish? It won't bring back innocence to the children, it won't stop other pedophiles from acting (did death penalty stop murders from happening in states where it's used?), I don't think it would accomplish anything. Appart from easing our taste for vengeance.
Sometimes I feel like I wouldn't mind seeing some criminals die a slow painful death, but this is not what I want for my society.
