and if clinton had gone to war then, as he hinted he would, which was before n. korea had nukes, would this crisis ever have gotten to where it got?
and if sanctions DID help us to reach this point with north korea, why are russia and china and france all opposed to slapping the same REAL sanctions on iran?
some people think only that US's foreign policy is unprincipled and driven by greed. i've just named several others who are worse.
question: are you saying going to war is a better option...?0 -

hindsight is 20/20. unfortunately we're not out of the woods yet. after the new optimism generated by this new agreement, there's no telling whether or not n. korea will actually abide by it or if it will renege on its obligations as they did in '94.
and if that's the case, and this all goes to shit, and n. korea continues to export fissile material or maybe even an entire warhead to places like iran, then going to war in '94 would have been the right course.Anti Zionism is not Anti Semitism

its a dead deal. US conservatives already up in arms (no pun intended) and North Korea has to do more than sign a piece of paper. they actually have to agree to inspections. actions speak louder than words. well be back to bickering in 3-4 months time. all that time talking allowed Kim Jong Psycho to build his bomb. Happy now?Rue D'Awakening wrote:hindsight is 20/20. unfortunately we're not out of the woods yet. after the new optimism generated by this new agreement, there's no telling whether or not n. korea will actually abide by it or if it will renege on its obligations as they did in '94.
