I can tell you why I support Obama if you'd like. Much more than hope and change, my friend.

    sure, feel free

then maybe we can get back on topic of the concept that every single vote belonging to the democrats and republicans and if someone happens to vote for an alternate party even though it was the will of someone else that vote was stolen from the dems and repubs...

and what is w/ this concept of some ppl (note the use of the word *some* so if you feel this does not apply to you then don't take it that way!) that it is everyone's duty and obligation to vote for 1 of the 2 major, corporate parties

and what is w/ how personal some seem to take some one choosing not to support obama? sure i might have snapped back but from the start a little over a year ago ppl have been getting so bent out of shape and pissy over it. get over it.

I haven't seen anybody in this thread come out and blatantly voice distaste for Ralph Nader. I appreciate some of the links that have been provided and information rendered that highlights his achievement as a public servant; he has done a tremendous amount of legwork getting many topics out in the forefront. Although I don't support his candidacy, I nonetheless respect the man for all he's accomplished and his steadfast commitment to consumer rights.

Even though many of you support Nader, you still trash Obama. Has he made some gaffes? Sure. Has Nader never contradicted himself or a position he's taken? Is he perfect? Has he never made a gaffe? Some of the points raised about Obama do merit discussion, but in the big scheme of things have his bad moments overriden the good so much that you mock his calls for change?

Is creating transparency in government not change? http://obama.senate.gov/podcast/060914-091406_coburn-o/

Is creating a healthcare system that doesn't employ mandates (read: socialist in nature a la Hillary) to achieve inexpensive healthcare not change? And is bringing all parties to the table and allowing voters to observe through media the proceedings between all involved parties not change?

Is a willingness to work in a bipartisan fashion not change? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/01/03/AR2008010303303.html

I don't have anything to get over. I'm extremely happy with my candidate and think he's going to be a transcendent president. You might not and that's fine.

i voice my objections w/ obama, if you feel pointing out how empty his rhetoric is and pointing out the lies is 'trashing' him then that is your right. he is just another politician, nothing special other than his speaking skills. and there's plenty of ppl who have trashed nader in other threads, but i could care less. the thing i don't get is they keep saying he should run for congress before president, but what did obama do!? he ran in an uncontested, unopposed senate race then almost immediately began campaigning and going on fund raisers raising money from corporations (look it up, his HOPE fund PAC took money from over 50 corporations and lobbyists) and has missed 40.3% of the senate votes!!! how does he have more experience than nader?

as for his health care plan, i think it is crap, it is pretty much what we have now other than if everyone else turns you down you can get a policy from the government. and if you have no insurance policy, like car insurance, if you get caught you will be fined

here's some other objections to his health care plan
