    well, I don't know where he's going but I hope he has a soft landing. I pretty much completely disagree with him and his movement socially.

    So, by his logic...

    We got September 11 because we did something wrong in the eyes of God... we must have done something right this time :)

    Right or wrong, the man had an impact in this country so announcing his death does not come has a surprise. For those of you who held him close to your hearts, rest easy.

    I just hope they don't reduce him down to a "character" like they did Smith. By time the "how sad" registered, I was at, I'm tired of hearing about the "bitch". It's easy to lose our prospective when it comes to acceptable dignity when something is force feed your brain every 30 seconds.

    I was in no way, shape, or form a fan of Falwell, but when a human being dies it is never a reason to laugh or "light one up and celebrate". It's not a left vs. right issue. The man has a family who are grieving now. Get over yourselves and show, if not the man, his family a little respect.

    I really doubt his family is perusing a Pearl Jam message board, so there's no harm done.

    Still, I was taught not to speak ill of the dead, so I guess I can never talk about him again now.

    First, if he held himself up as an iconic figure for a political purpose, which he did, it is in fact a right or left issue. 2nd, I don't think too many of his family will be reading this BB.

    And that's why we're seeing every leftist poster here jumping all over this! Oh wait....it's just a small few. I'd imagine the same number would be of righties would be doing the same if Al Franken died. The very fact that you need to make this a competition as to which has the most taste is telling.

    Well, I don't think anyone is bashing a dead man. I think they're bashing what he stood for when he was alive.
