robbie wrote:it is not about killing or calling for the execution of Hatemonger Falwell. but the fact is that this world will eventually evolve to a more progressive place when all these hateful old men die off and a more reasonable generation takes its place. I am not calling for the execution of Bush or Cheney, but one day filthy old biggots and warmongers like them will die off, and we will live in a more progressive country. I do celebrate the death of Falwell, not because I wanted him killed, but because it brings us closer to a time when we are not influenced and ruled by his generation of insanity. It is like celebrating the fall of the berlin wall.... the death of a symbol of division, hatred and everything that is wrong with society. I am glad he is dead. it does bring me comfort and happiness that he is dead. he deserves NO respect, only ridicule and spite. he is a figure to be learned from, one day we will tell our grandchildren how far our country has progressed by looking back on the dark times of Falwell. sure, our grandchildren will mock us for living in such obscene times and giving this man any credit whatsoever, but at least he will serve as a marker of what we were. kinda like a really hideous before and after picture. celebrating his death is like the thin people on television commercials smiling and holding up the enormous pants they used to wear.
This post sounds like it's calling for the end of dissent. This is the exact opposite of celebrating the fall of the Berlin Wall.0 -

This happens on this board constantly except the opposite.my2hands wrote:anyone that preaches hate is a bad person i could care less
If you read this board on a daily basis, you will see plenty of hate yet we never see posters on here called out as bad people.0 -
what's it at now 650,000 or so dead Iraqi's in the de "Iraqi basement"?Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

it is no way calling for an end to dissent. I love dissent. I never called for anyone to silence jerry falwell, he had every right to say every hateful, ignorant, biggoted, word that escaped his disgusting mouth. The answer, in my opinion is always more speech as opposed to limited speech. what i am saying is that slavery used to be acceptable in our society, witch trials used to be acceptable in our country..... we look back at those times with amazement that we were so upside down, cruel, and ignorant. such are the days of the influance of jerry falwell. I would have been profoundly opposed to anyone killing falwell for his speech or twisted ideas, but for him go die off and rid the planet of this turd is reason to celebrate. i cannot pretend to owe this filthy piece of crap any respect or tact.0 -

but you have better access to the real number...oh do enlighten us all.
10 is too many actually but it's not your family, right? As long as someone else is paying the price...If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

Bigotry will never end though. There will always be people who do not like another group. That is part of human nature. Hypocrisy will not end either. Neither will religion.
What did Falwell do that was so unacceptable? If speech is good, then what did he really do that was so unacceptable aside from hold beliefs that are different from yours? How did he influence your life?0 -

the most comprehensive database I've seen. http://www.iraqbodycount.org/

Astonishing.
100, 000 innocents killed with our tax dollars instead of 600, 000. That's just astonishing.

and according to that, its 70,000 instead of 650,000.
same as 20,000 being less then 1,200,000,000. understand now?0 -
Byrnzie wrote:He died a natural death. If my memory serves me correctly there were plenty of people of people on this board cheering the Execution of Sadaam. I'm against capital punishment, and I would have voiced my oposition to the execution of Jerry - numb nuts - fulwell.
Again, he died a natural death. Although in his lifetime he preached hatred and bile to segments of society which totaled millions.
Why the phony sympathy? I didn't hear you offering the same type of sympathy to Sadaam when peope around here cheered his hanging. I too thought Sadaam was an evil scum fuck, but I will never cheer an execution. Falwell died a natural death at a grand old age. Therefore no sympathy is warranted. He was a twisted hate monger. In my opinion his life should be ridiculed and his preachings should be resigned to the pages of comic books or porno magazines. Fuck him and all his kind!
Why don't you go back and see exactly what I said when they hanged Sadaam. I opposed his hanging.
I'm not calling for sympathy at all if you'd read my comment. I'm saying that JOY at another's death is pathetic and classless. The only people we should try to get even with...
...are those who've helped us.

I understand that innocent people are killed and you don't give it a thought. You aren't mature enough to comprehend it.
And, that's ok. I'm not knocking it. You'll get there.

by inflating the number to get across a point and inflate the sadness of war is immature0 -

I think posters are playing at joy in this, I wouldn't take it at face value in the posts you see. The primitive "moral majority" still has a voice, with or without Falwell, and most of us know that. There is no celebrating for ignorance. Ignorance isn't dead.

I went through the walking-talking penis phase myself. We all do, to some extent or another.
If and when you deflate, you can PM me.
Peace.
