    tanya wasn't one for playing games. she turned and walked back into the bedroom. when hamish followed he found her dressing. he playfully tried to wrap his arms around her, but she pushed him away.

    tanya laughed to herself as she pulled her boots on. she stood with her hands on her hips looking at hamish.

    'it always is hamish. it always is.'

    she picked up her bag and started to walk away. hamish reached out grabbing tanya's arm. she looked at him again and he returned her gaze. she pulled her arm away.

    'you can't even tell me her name. see ya later.'

    fuck hamish swore to himself when he heard the front door close. he thought for a second about going after tanya but then he thought why bother. then he thought about anna and wondered why she didn't answer her phone.

    well for starters, she could have been out. or she could be too drunk. or she could be working. or there could be a hundred reasons why anna doesn't answer her phone.

    hamish knew he had to stop trying to be more to anna than she was williing to allow him. but they had known each other since high school. and well, he was the one that introduced her to davey. and look how well that turned out.

    hamish decided that a shower was needed to clear his head.

    jeff shrugged the question off and leant over to the bedside resting the mug on the top of a book.

    'it's nothing. she just doesn't give off a good vibe for me'

    jeff stood up and kiss johnny.

    'i'm going to take a shower.'

    johnny let him go, noting the absence of an invitation to join him.

    He got up and walked over to the livingroom instead. I probable should call her after last night. Damn I hate when things like this happen. He sat down on the couch and just stared out the window losing himself in his thoughts.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get her on the phone, so I left her a message on her machine, but she didn’t call back. I was wondering if you might have a cell phone number that I could try?

    gerard furrowed his brow. he hadn't seen anna himself for a little while. nor had he heard from her.

    'i'm afraid anton, anna doesn't have a cell phone. she doesn't exactly believe in them. sometimes she gets caught up in her work. when she does she's practically uncontactable unless you pound on her door. and even then i'd not recommend it. is it urgent that you speak to her?'

    Well yes it is. I was hoping to set up a meeting with her for this or the following week. I want to offer her a teaching position if the job interview works out well. I believe she is the one we need, but I can't hold of my colleagues much longer. We need someone for this class.

    Well no one actually recommended her. I saw her work a few times. I have had a few conversations about her as an artiest with people, but that was sometime ago. I just really admire her work.

    Beth who had been eagerly jumping beside Gérard to find out what this conversation was about finally got the chance to speak without interrupting the conversation. It had taken all of her self-discipline to not fire away questions while Gérard was on the phone. She never really out grew her child like ways in that aspect. Well tell me G. The suspense is killing me.

    gerard looked at beth as one would an exaspirating child. he really had to stop sleeping with this woman. she thought it gave her privileges he wasn't willing to give her.

    'that was anton...yeates i think he said. he's been leaving messages on anna's machine and she's so far not returned them. i know that's hardly cause for a freak out, but with anna not being herself lately what with that neanderthal brother in law of hers attacking her and all, i think this time we should err on the side of caution.'
