Let's see, Bay Area, California.... um....umm... nope. No one I can think of. image

(Well, at least the smiley is from 7 years ago.)

I will be joining some Bay Area gents for an always rocking good time this sun night.Even without Steve Perry.
Went to A Papa Roach show last month. So those Bay Area artists really get around.
Have great time, rr! What's the show?

So I was kidding, of course. because some big bands/musicians have come out of the bay area. Some of my lesser known favorites:

    Blue Cheer
    Fifty Foot Hose
    Sons of Champlin
    Moby Grape
    The Chocolate Watchband

54-40 are pretty good. They're from Delta I think, my hometown.

Bay Area bands going way back!

I saw Journey when they were a new Bay Area band- none of us had ever heard of them. They opened for Link Wray- must have been around '74 or '75.

Matthew Good was, I think, my favourite band from our general area (from the Lower Mainland, not Victoria; no-one is really from Victoria). I also kind of liked Odds.

Not sure if I'd consider Cheap Trick a Chicago band since they're from Rockford. I'm not too familiar with Naked Raygun

ya know.....when the Chicago Transit Authority started out, they were one kick ass band.

Hendrix supposedly once said, "I'm not a guitarist; that guy (Terry Kath) is a guitarist."

The Allman Brothers Band are generally considered to be a Georgia band even though they first formed in Jacksonville.

Death was from Florida. I'm not sure why you didn't list them. They're one of the essential death metal bands of all time.

Danny Carey was born in Lawrence, Martina McBride is from some hick town(she may make shitty country songs but helluva voice), Melissa Ethridge in Leavenworth, Charlie Parker was born on the Kansas side of Kansas City and well the band Kansas! (and they fucking suck)

Don't forget Manilla Road aka the pride of Wichita!

by a landslide. Most posted bands I've never heard before.

Texas owns country music, the list is a mile long. But for Rock music, all I can think of is:

    Toadies

    Pantera

    Buddy Holly

    Drownding Pool

    Butthole Surfers
    Centro-matic
    Slobberbone
    Rusted Shut
    True Widow
