The James Gang (Joe Walsh), Pure Prairie League and Devo :p.

and, even though she made it big while living in London, Akron's own Chrissie Hynde.

Not exactly Seattle, I know.

    Well in my opinion my favorite band to hail from Gerogia is Mastodon.

    Taylor Swift went to my school and moved out to Nashville when she was in 8th grade and I was in 10th. I didn't really know her but I remember them saying on the morning announcements that she left to pursue her career in Nashville and that we all wish her luck. Now she's huge. It's pretty cool. :cool:

    Other bands from my area are Live and Breaking Benjamin. Live is decent, but BB sucks.

    Being from Springfield MA, I have to say Staind. I remember seeing them as a cover band in small bars in the early 90s - they did a very nice job covering Black if I remember correctly.

    Sheryl Crow

    I'd like to claim Uncle Tupelo since they hail from St. Louis. I love me some Tupelo.

    Danny Carey was born in Lawrence, Martina McBride is from some hick town(she may make shitty country songs but helluva voice), Melissa Ethridge in Leavenworth, Charlie Parker was born on the Kansas side of Kansas City and well the band Kansas! (and they fucking suck)

    You also have Petty, Seven Mary Three, Lynyrd Skynyrd (I think) and that band fronted by Rob Thomas.

    Seven Mary Three is from Virginia. but you forgot that FLorida has that band that we all know and love....Limp Bizkit.
