That's a laugh. Cornell could tear down a mountain with his screams.
I would put Ed above all of the other "grunge-era" singers. Of the ones others listed, Cornell would be 3rd, Staley 4th and Cobain 5th.
Second place is reserved for Mark Lanegan, easily one of the greatest vocalists of our time“Do not postpone happiness”
(Jeff Tweedy, Sydney 2007)
“Put yer good money on the sunrise”

i can only slightly agree with this...
liddiard is an australian so its possible he was thinking locally when he said that but i doubt it cause he is well travelled. i also think he was speaking generally cause im sure hes aware there are bands out there that do say something worth listening to. or that gives you pause for thought. and i think a massive pile of songs out there, that the public are exposed to by all the various media have nothing to say. theyre just noise. pretty packaging with no substance. liddiard is a storyteller.. its what he does. his songs are like little vignettes and they get under your skin, not in a poppy way, but in that you find yourself picturing the song inside your mind. and thats a good thing.hear my name
take a good look

Layne has the best voice but I think Chris Cornell is a close second and is the better songwritter.0

Temple of the Dog spun last night with PJ.
Eddies voice is on a way different level than Cornell's. Eddie is a crooner, his voice so beautiful,
there is no contest there, Cornell can't touch it.0
