  • I think you would have to be quite a young mind to think that.

OK, that was totally patronising and unnecessary..
That's cool with me though, becasue I don't look to Muse for thought provoking lyrics, a big fat riff and a catchy chorus works for me, and they bring those by the spade full.

And that is just entirely inconsistent with your previous comment, making it null and void. I stand by my previous post.

I meant to think it was 'intelligent'.
I'm pretty sure HLF doesn't actually think Muse's lyrics are intelligent. He is saying that Matt Bellamy does, or rather he acts like they are.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

Ah right, I took it as 'people are dumb enough to think it is intelligent'. What I was saying was that perhaps only a younger person with less life experience etc would consider them intelligent.

Is it not obvious that I meant that? Ah well...

I've said that plenty of times on this board. If people try to mock me for it then I'll just get all pretentious and obnoxious and show my in depth knowledge of countless styles and eras of music. Then I'll make them a playlist to listen to with songs from the likes of John Zorn, Port-Royal, Susie Ibarra, Eric Dolphy, Merzbow, Jackson C Frank, Amon Tobin, Anthony Braxton, Arvo Part, Souls of Mischief AND FALL OUT BOY and tell them to fuck right off! :D

Not in any type of order...

    Radiohead
    The Shins
    The Raconteurs
    Dave Matthews Band
... fifth is wide open, not too sure who to go with. Music, in general, is in a state of emergency at the moment.

I figured out what band would take my last open spot and it's definitely the... Black Keys! GREAT BAND! Finally gave them a chance and they delivered.

  • Ween....amazingly talented and amazing 3 hour+ live shows! LEAVE DEANER ALONE....DEANER DEANER!

Pearl Jam...18 years and going strong, enough said.

Flaming Lips....crazy talent and stage presence. Who would have thought a bunch of fearless freaks from OK City who didn't know how to play instruments could make such kick ass and inspirational music.

    NIN....amazing live shows, absolutely powerful!

    Tool...see above.
