This is actually all very true. I'm not going to argue that. I still think everyone deserves the same chance, however.

How do you figure that these problems weren't random? They didn't just happen to certain people and it still all boils down to chance. Better luck next time.

Never said it wasn't random. I am not one of the conspirators. I just want to know that it won't happen again, and that assurance will most likely only come with explanation.

By "we", do you mean your fellow anti-dissent, close-minded, North Cackalackians? (Now before you read too far into that, I'm not saying all of NC thinks that way. I'm just suggesting you're referring to the ones who, like you, do).

The only sure thing is that limited poeple will get the limited posters. There is no way to please everyone trying. Whatever went down happened bc of the demand. If the system is not rigged against anyone in particular then it is still fair.

If you feel like researching my posts on this subject since last night, you'll see that I have always maintained that I'm just pissed I didn't get the same chance as everyone else. Not that I didn't actually get a poster. I'm happy for anyone who got through, but I still feel that if my opportunities at a fair shot are taken from me, I deserve the opportunity to voice my disdain.
    And that's far from childish.

Pretend with me for a second...come boys and girls, to my land of make believe....it'll be fun....pretend there has been a discovery of golden magic widgits....widgits that are able to fulfill your wildest wishes and fantasies. The owners of the new found treasure trove already have golden magic widgits of their own, so being the philanthropists and all around givers-of-good-karma that they are, decided to give away the widgits to their friend and neighbors. The golden magic widgits were a rare find and were in very short supply. The owners decided that the fairest way to give away the widgits was to make a anouncement to all of their friends and neighbors informing them of the discovery and notifying EVERYONE of the give-away date and speciific time. They would be given away on a first come, first served basis. (this way there was no favortism shown to close friends, everything on a level playing field and all that good stuff). The owners, being the wise folks that they were, knew that some of their friends might try to arrive early. Some even figured if they knocked real loud, the owners might let them in early. But that was not to be. The owners had rigged a trap door in the floor to send away those that arrived too early and kept knocking. Those "early birds" were sent to the end of the line, and if they showed up early again, they were banished forever. This kept things FAIR for all. The golden magic widgits went quickly and everyone was estatic...except for the banished ones, who could only sit in the shadows and pout while the winners made wishes on their new golden magic widgits.

Now isnt that a great story boys and girls...come back wednesday morning for another.

i am not anti dissent, and i am not closed minded. but i'm not a whiner, either...

i am referring to those who think you are complaining too much, and they're not all from north carolina....

very fair, indeed. no need to push your way through when its not time. the time was annouced and sometimes people outsmart themselves. doesn't make it any less fair, though. better luck and strategy next time, guys.

that comment plus your user name reminds me of my all-time favorite scene on wkrp in cincinnati....

johnny fever is sitting in the control room....pink floyd cranked....it's animals...anyway, he's in the air-chair, head back, shades on....cup of....well, a coffe cup full of something....so then mr carlson comes walking in...just so happens to be the middle of "dogs" playing....he listens.....cocks his head....listens more....then says "fever.....do i hear dogs barking?"

so the dr. looks out from under his shades and says: "i do"......

    Hello everyone,
This is my first official post. After reading the last 6 pages I had to laugh. Scams, Theorys, evil Ticketmaster etc... Guess what??? The old days are GONE!!! No more waiting in line a Tower Records to get tickets. No more going to Rock Memories and buying PJ posters for $30 or less. No more walking in the show 2 hours after the doors open and buying a STACK of posters.
    GREENLAKE

One thing I gotta say about PJ that has always been a very cool thing...you can still grab a sticker for a buck! Gotta LOVE that :-)

Morgie2 and Sweet Adeline, thank you for being so nice!

And BarkingDogs...I hear you loud and clear. I recommend the Allman Brothers Band's message boards and shows. Now THAT'S family.

    OK

lets say there were 1000 posters.

Then lets assume there were 5000 of us trying to get a poster.

Doesnt anyone think that after the entire stock went onsale and subsequently sold out ( * extremely quickly ) that the link / image was then removed- and there was ( as there is now & always ) nothing above the date / place book ?

this is a distinct possibility- that there was in fact no " glitch " and that the demand just heavily outnumbered the supply and that Luck was the thing that dictated if you got a poster or not .

whoa, whoa, whoa. lets not try to think logically here when there is more whining to be done.

The fact of the matter is that far too many people cannot accept that there was a technical problem...because some got through without problem.
Truth be told, he majority of the complaints I've read (including my own) are about the fact that we weren't even all given a fair chance to compete. The icon simply did not appear to us no matter what browser we used, whether we were logged in or not, and if we were wearing bras on our heads or not. And it sucks. I will not live the rest of my life in mourning of the poster I lost, or lost the chance to purchase, but damn right I'm pissed about it and can assure you that the complaints will only continue if 10c does not look into what the problem was and come clean prior to the next sale.

How was it not "fair"? Unless the people who actually got to see the link were favored purposefully, the people who didn't see the link were simply unlucky.
  • On my end the Boston poster link hung around for awhile after Santos declared it sold out...

It is very possible that the continued existence of the Boston link after the sellout was the "glitch". Maybe just maybe, the link is supposed to disappear after the posters are placed in carts. Just saying...it is possible.

(Sorry for not following my own thinking guidelines.)
  • I know! Or else they will take their whining elsewhere??...what a loss! Maybe it's a plan to root out all the crybabies without them actually knowing it. :D

abook?! surprised to see you get caught in this nonsense, pleasantly surprised that is :)
  • There was a glitch. that never happened on the other 100+ 10C purchases ive made. not that i really care just ending the argument.
