HuntingtonBeachNick wrote:Ok guys, im going to get fired on for putting this. I feel bad that so many people got shut out tonight but it's not the bands fault, its not 10C's fault. Its simple supply and demand. The demand is way higher than the supply thus lots of shut out pissed off people. I got shut out on the first one, got lucky tonight, and I'll probably get shut out the next poster. But, I'm happy with what I get and glad I get the opportunity to try to get these sweet pieces of art. Just be thankful we even get the change to buy these instead of them keeping them in some warehouse somewhere.
Peace and love,
N
I agree with you. When there are sales after Thanksgiving, there are 524334857 people waiting in line to get a good deal on something, I don't hear the people who didn't get the sale item crying and complaing like 5 year-olds because they didn't get their toy. It's a poster sale. There was obviously an overwhelming response. Oh well...better luck next time.
Sorry, I feel bad for those who wanted it but didn't get it...there are worse things in life than not getting a poster.Need a tour Travel Agent??? Pick me :-)

HuntingtonBeachNick wrote:I totally agree. I would love to not have to worry about my poster while I'm rockin out. That would be the best and easiest most manageable way to get posters to the fanclub members. Unfortunately we might have to wait until 2009 to see that implemented
I agree 110%. The current system is, as our Brit and Oz buddies would say, "RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!!" Why the fuck shouldn't I have a poster if I am in the 10C (since 1996, BTW) and went to both NJ shows? I got shut out BOTH nights and boy am I peeved about it.

Some other ideas: 10C babysitting service, 10C valet parking with 10C car wash (by seniority of course), 10C laundry (bring your dirty undies in and have them washed while the band plays 'wash'), 10C post-gig massage, 10C bill pay (just bring 'em to the window and let Tim and what's-her-name make out your checks and lick our stamps) ... Why can't Kerensa take family (or, JAMILY as they say in Entertainment Weakly) portraits while the opener is on? And, what are Mike and Stone doing that they can't give 10C guitar lessons before each show?
Is a 10C bathroom with a 10C bathroom attendant, 10C mints and 10C fruity hand soaps too much to ask for?
They aren't here to cater to our every whim. The posters are worth something because they are limited. I've been to 15 shows in the past three years and I've bought a poster at each. Rather than cooking up a second homemade batch of meth and shaking the last bits of office-grade cleaning solution to huff out of the can, I went into the arena/pavilion/stadium of each show, waited in line and bought a poster. I'm 15 for 15. Believe me, I'm not faster than any of you. I'm not more spry. There are ass dimples on my sofa and my TiVo remote buttons are worn down to little stubs. If a fat fuck like me can get posters, any of you can.
Dude...you are one funny guy. Thanks for the laff! As you can see from my last post, I needed it :-)
The only thing I will say is that there's no way you got an NJ1 or NJ2 unless you are an employee of Continental Airlines Arena.

When you purchase your 10c tix, have an option to purchase the show poster as well. Granted, they would be sight unseen, but so what? I'd be more than willing to roll the dice on that one. The posters are already at the venue; it wouldn't seem like a huge stretch to count out the number of posters bought with 10c tickets and give out both at the 10c line. We could then take the posters to our cars for safekeeping and be DONE WITH IT!!
It seems simple to me. I never got a reply to my email, but I am hoping that it was read and considered. This current system is just nuts.

polsonm wrote:Or this whole thing is just a scam trying to get more interest in the poster sales on ebay...
how else would they get this much interest in them? and make them actually worth a cpl hundred bucks...
the whole hidden schedule, no sign of there even being anything on the site, and the 'limited' numbers...
The whole point of the poster sale scam is that it's SO VERY UN-PEARL JAM LIKE. For a band whose mission in life for a very long time was to defeat the Ticketmonsters and the scalpers of the world, they are in fact ENCOURAGING black-market sales of their goods by making them limited-edition. I do not care that the posters are limited-edition. I just want a memento of the shows I attended that I could hang on my wall and every time I look at it, think of one of my favorite bands and what a great time I had that day/night. For example, I have the poster from the Red Rocks gig on the aborted 1995 tour, and it's one of my faves for that exact reason.
As a diehard fan, am I really asking too much?

You guys are all fucked. And obsessed. And all a wee bit weird...
Its a POSTER! And also not everyone drives...
Honestly, I have not come across such a strange and scary thread in my entire life. People ready to kill cos they didnt get a POSTER! People saying that only TRUE fans (ie Ten Club) should be guaranteed access to them!
Bet you all cry yourselves to sleep at night 'cos your not Eddie's 'special person'. Or actually you probably think you ARE Eddies special person and Come Back was written just for you! Weird weird weird!
Im just happy that my Ten Club membership gets me access to the best tickets on the amazing Euro tour, a little gift pack a couple of times a year and a WHOLE feeling of good will from the best band in the world. What do you expect for 10 measely bucks? A proposal of marriage from Ament?

Sorry, but the NJ sale WAS a scam. I was there at the appointed time, in the appointed place, and was roundly told "SORRY NO MORE POSTERS." Believe me...the employees got 'em all.

Well said Laura. I agree wholeheartedly! If any of the guys from the band saw what was going on with their 'items' they would (at least Id hope) stop it all. The showed thier disdane for the ticketmaster crap a long time ago, and yet here we are, fighting for posters...so people, who didnt go to shows, buy them via some f'ed up system, only to sell them for a profit! I went to the Philly and DC shows and stood in line, only to get a sold out response. I wasn't mad at that, thats life. But to then get the chance, and this time by some poorly run system, that apparently only gives the opportunity to some people...well, lets just say, it really puts things into perspective. And Ill repeat, puts a negative image on BOTH 10c AND Pearl Jam!0 -

Lets see how happy everyone is when the band/10club stops producing and selling concert posters cause of all the flak they get from people here(especially from "die hards" who just popped up on the pit when poster sales started) about the damn things and the way they are sold.
Santos should wallpaper his bathroom with all the remaing DC posters, use the last one as toilet paper and post a picture of it on the site and tell us all to sh*t in our hats for the immature pissing and moaning on the site about not getting a precious poster.
Good luck on Tuesday everybody.
Don't spend your whole weekend fretting about which poster will be for sale Tuesday and what time, its wasted energy. This weekend we rock Portland0
