I suspect that a new album in 2008 is a pipe dream.....much less a full blown tour in 2008. I would be willing to bet that in 2009 (or 2010) we will have to petition again for dates. Something tells me that they will never be back.

You know some might think that this is pessimistic but I really think this is the situation that we're going to be looking at. Looks like we'll just have to try and find our way to the various benefit shows that pop up a couple of times a year during the off-years. It's really a shame.

Someone or somebodies in this band and its organization has an axe to grind with the South. I hate to go all conspiracy theory on y'all, but it is starting to add up. You don't just piss on a large section of the country and walk away like nothing happened unless you are hiding something that doesn't hit your public image.

Well we hit 300 pages today and are about to get to 12,000 posts. Even if it's dedication to a lost cause it's still a hell of a lot of dedication from us Southerners.
Explain to me why we want to go out of our way, spend time away from our home & family and spend our money to support this band and their causes again????
Well I was just speaking for myself. Sure, i'm really disappointed that they seem to be ignoring us down here. But that doesn't change the fact that being at a show for me is a rush like no other. Plus if I stopped going to shows to prove a point no one would notice and it really wouldn't make much of a difference. Plus I have a pretty low 10c number so hopefully when the veteran southern 10c members throw in the towel i'll get even closer

Wow! you really are an activist! I also have had a sour taste whenever I thought about buying a poster or shirt... I just couldn't bring myself to do it. And, by the way, that 5 x 1 book sucks.
I will keep my 10c number for another year though, in hopes that a lot of folks give up there numbers and my shitty new number becomes mediocre.
But I will still petition the powers that be, in hopes of some reaction...

first of all, let me just say that I can't believe some of you, you are relying on one man's word that claims he knows the band, but has told us nothing but lies and made promises that he hasn't kept, tourdates by March 1st, then he promised April 1st, and now that its getting close, he says the tour is off, face it guys JTR doesn't know a damn thing! Until I hear it confirmed on this site that there are no plans for the south I am not gonna get my hopes down. ..they may be disapointed that the South voted in the idiot...for a second time even.....first by coming to the south.they can spread the message..and two they realize there are many poor souls that have to live amoung the Bush lovers, so they feel sorry for us..and want to come visit.

Maybe if they investigated the situation in the South, they would see that many of us don't view the Democratic Party as a good alternative.....because we watch them rob us blind on a daily basis on the state and local level. BTW, I voted for Nader.

They definitely had time available. They chose to spend it on Europe...again. That's two trips in less than a year's time. I can see why many of us saw that as a slap in the face. They chose to go back across the atlantic as opposed to trucking their equipment down south to play for the entire region of the country that they skipped last spring.

the only truth is us, the contributors...and what the band actually does, not what we speculate.
