So do I. A lot of what has been said today is out of hurt and anger. But, I do agree with those who say that the lack of communication is the real kick in the face.

That being said, maybe they don't KNOW when they'll be ready to tour. Let's face it, Stone and Mikey are going to be Dads for the first time. We don't know how long they held off going on the road when Ed became a Dad because it was all so fucking secretive.

Once the babies are here and lives get settled, we'll probably know a little more.

The major concern with this particular theory of mine is that they should have put Europe off and played the South. But we don't have any info to base anything on. It's all just opinions; no facts.

I for one don't think PJ has anything specifically against the South. It may not be their favorite area to play or something, but I don't think they, as people, are capable of that kind of ignorance.....not and write and play the subject matter they cover.

We're all pissed off - but I still support the band. They have a right to have families and live lives too. They're in their 40's for the most part now and have paid many dues.

I don't think politics had anything to do with it. I think it is the 'lose money' arguement, but I highly disagree with that argument as you can see from my previous posts.

That being said, I don't really blame the band themselves for this. They want to take the rest of the year off and be with family and maybe do some studio work, more power to them. We all benefit in the long run from that. I blame whoever it was that released the dates last year for this entire situation.

Two things would have solved this whole problem.

    1) Release all US dates at one time (as they did for every other tour except this one - that decision still bothers me). That way the South knows from the get-go that there will be no shows here at all and everyone plans accordingly, whether that plan involves getting pissed, staying home or traveling.

    2) Sprinkle 8 or 10 shows down this way in between Leg 1 and 2. There was plenty of time for that. And don't give me that 'too much distance between shows' argument either because have you seen Australia?

That would have done it. And out of 80+ shows, if 2 or 3 don't see well in the south and money is lost, then big whoop. You had 80+ other shows to fall back on.

But I do think it was a mis-calculated, mis-handled money decision, and not a political one. After all, other red states got shows, including Ohio, which held the election in their hands and was the deciding vote.

Well, they are killing a fan who purchased "Ten" after only hearing "Alive" one complete time on the MTV (Feb. 1992) and has been with them despite only two shows in his hometown since that time. A fan who flew to Halifax, Nova Scotia to enjoy seeing Pearl Jam in that fine city. A fan who has spent a lot of time and money on the band. All good things come to an end, I guess?

Not all good things come to an end. They morph, adapt and change accordingly over time. That is the way with all types of relationships. It is just hard when it is all one sided. But that is when we have to let the intangible trust take over.

I think that would have resolved a large majority of the ill-will...at least from my prospective.

I couldn't agree with you more... ask PissBottleMan about his focus lately (PissBottleBaby). When real life hits you, all else fades. We probably just don't exist to them right now... they have their eyes, minds and hearts busy right now.

My kids were babies in the late 80's and 90's and I saw/thought of not much else for about a decade. Thru all our problems and highs and lows the one thing that reached thru all the surrounding bullshit (that was growing) was the music of Pearl jam. It is about the only thing I remember from the early 90's (besides children, illness, panic, money, business, tears, etc). the music was faint at first, but has grown much more intense as I have become free-er.

So, I can understand that these men need to shut down for a while. I just wish they had left their business decision making to more capable hands.

So, hopefully they will hear our faint voices in the backgound of their lives and listen to us when they are ready.

That I don't know... I could see a quick release of a new album (didn't I read that Ed said they loads more material to release?) and then another short-shitty-half-assed tour to follow shortly thereafter - just in time to campaign for the elections.

Stoneg's source, Carter the DJ and JR all said the same thing (independently as far as I can tell) at about the same time, that there was a tour planned and it fell apart.

bad management? bad feelings? All we know is that there exists some bad communication with both this band and its fan (?) club.

    With regard to their management....
how many of YOU work at companies where one hand doesn't know what the other is doing? That's internal communication - and if it's screwed up inside J records/PJ it's not going to be any better for 10C to the fans.

PJ left Sony because they were "too restricted" among other things. I think part of what we're seeing is a bit of a hands-off management approach. With all the personal changes taking place within the band, it seems that they (PJ) are flexing their newfound freedom.

Again, though - my sore spot is the Euro tour. I was pretty much okay and feeling hopeful until that got announced. I felt really insulted - but got over it. Don't know the circumstances/timing whatever.

I just hope some of what we say gets to the RIGHT PEOPLE.
    ARE YOU DOING THAT KAT?
GETTING OUR VIEWPOINTS TO THE RIGHT PEOPLE?
WE REALLY HOPE THAT'S THE CASE.
AND IF SO, A BIG THANKS FROM THE SOUTH!
