Left the house at 4:15 a.m. to drive down in the general direction where Makingwaves hangs their hat......actually down to L.A. (Lower Alabama) to a town called Foley in an attempt to see a very rare bird for our part of the world (4th state record)........the Northern Wheatear......a bird that breeds in the high arctic and then migrates across the Atlantic to Africa. One had been sighted numerous times in a new subdivision in Foley, Alabama over the last couple of weeks. A couple of friends and I made the trip............after an hour of desperate searching...........Bingo!!!!! A new bird for the life list!!!!
Just another example about Southerners caring about something besides NASCAR, country music and cheap beer.
