Can't wait to hear the new record. I love these guys!

Did I mention how much I'm looking forward to this album? I'll be the first one in line when they roll through Calgary on their soon-to-be-announced tour.

That site rules! I buy a lot of stuff from those folks. When the Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir put out their first record (produced by the mighty Paul Langlois), Maplemusic was the only place you could get it other than their live shows, and the copy they sent me was autographed! It was also the only place you could find Kate Fenner's first solo record "Horses and Burning Cars". That Wintersleep vinyl is incredibly cool. I might have to order me one of those.

  • from an email I received today.....

    Album News:
Wintersleep's third full length, Welcome To The Night Sky will be in stores nationally on October 2nd. If you simply can't wait that long, you can download the entire album through http://www.zunior.com and http://www.iTunes.ca starting next Tuesday, Sept. 25th. For all of you iTunes.ca users, the song "Weighty Ghost" is now the iTunes Free Single of the Week. Get it before it's gone!

If you're a fan of displaying the artwork, or gazing lovingly into the shiny backside of your discs, you can pre-order the CD now through the Sonic Unyon website. All copies are supposed to arrive by the release date.

    Tour Update:

Tour dates are being finalized as we speak, so keep checking back at http://www.wintersleep.com for complete information on each city, venue and where to buy tickets. We are extremely pleased to announce that tour mates for shows west of the Maritimes are Wooden Stars! Check 'em out here: http://www.myspace.com/woodenstars

besides the notice about the Halifax show from last night, I don't think they've posted them yet....

Hopefully they'll be easy to find on the new website... all those hidden links are driving me crazy! :p

I can't believe they had a show in Hali last night... I was just there last week for the Hip - why oh why couldn't they have coordinated a little better?? :D

That new website is not very user friendly...hopefully they are in the midst of pulling it together...
  • Not sure if anyone knows this, but you can download "Weighty Ghost" for free on Itunes. It's their free "single of the week".

Hmm...nothing about tickets though. I'm wondering, can you buy them through Ticketbastard, or can I pick them up at my favorite indie record store? Either way, I'll be there for sure on Nov. 6th in Calgary!

6 more sleeps until the new record drops!

I picked up the new album today and it's absolutely brilliant! It's not often an album hits me like a ton of bricks on the first listen, but this one instantly grabbed me. It's a fantastic record. However, one of my biggest pet peeves is when bands don't include the lyrics in their CD booklets, and Wintersleep has failed to include them on all three of their albums. It's really starting to annoy me. But yeah, anyways...great album!

Oh, and I also bought tickets to their upcoming show on Nov. 6th at The Warehouse here in Calgary. Can't wait!

hey again! i got the album last night, and i see what you mean about the lyrics.... as i was opening the case, i thought to myself "well, the insert looks big enough - how could there be no lyrics??"... but alas, you are right....

i do, however, ADORE the piece of art on the poster..... i stared at it for several minutes, trying to figure out which way was up - and then decided that it didn't have an "Up".... are they mountains? ocean waves? a bird? I think i see a little village too.... in every direction there is a new image... genius. i love it. apparently, Melissa Kearney is the name of the artist....
