Which band has fallen the most in the last fifteen years?

Anyways...here's my list of once mighty bands that are now floating in the sea of brown:
1)Weezer--Stay away from the Red Album at all costs; it's horrific.
2)RHCP--They're talent has receded quicker than my hairline.
3)Metallica--These days...they're as metal as a Fisher Price Hammer.
4)Smashing Pumkins--The shorter Billy's hair got...the more they sucked
5)Tool--It took 4 years to write 10,000 days??0 -
Alright, we're talking about the band that has fallen the MOST. This automatically would not include Pearl Jam, RHCP, or similar acts because they still sell alot of albums and tickets, and are still relevant today. They may not be as popular or relevant as they once were, but that doesn't mean they come close to being the band that has fallen the most in 15 years. How about a band like Hootie and the Blowfish? One of the best selling debuts of all time, but now where are they? Korn? They were huge at one point, leading the whole "new metal" scene. Now?
Pearl Jam doesn't even come close, and for those who think so well, maybe they should really think of what they're saying before they actually say it.

unfortunately i think that the answer is metallica - good things are being rumored about their new album but, to be honest, this is their last shot, if they put out another piece of crap like st. anger its done
i also think the offspring are a good one for this, it must have been tough after smash, i personally like ixnay on the hombre but, they have definitely fallen on rough times
and third i think is bush - sixteen stone was a monster success but, they werent able to really follow it up, razorblade suitcase was alright but....9/1/2000 - E-Centre, Camden, 'Sometimes' started and I was hooked...0 -
Aerosmith by far0

Now that's a thinker.
Well I have to agree on Chris Cornell as the 1st choice in that category. Why would you do something you're bad at? Probably to expand your audience or to get away from that rock-star-appealing-only-to-headbangers image. Ah... hell there will be no Soundgarden reunion whatsoever. Plus it wouldn't be the same... Although it's a shame they split up so abruptly and absurdly. IMHO Audioslave was less interesting than both RATM & Soundgarden but still miles ahead of his solo afforts.
I don't think PJ declined that much. RA and Avocado had their great moments but were not so great and cohesive as a whole. But still anticipating their new record more than anybody else's.
But then again everybody has their ups and downs.Don't go messing with machoes!0 -

Erm, at risk of being obvious.... why the fuck are you here?!
Ridiculous statement to write on a Pearl Jam message board.
 ANYWAY...
Metallica, RHCP, The Offspring and Black Label Society have all dropped in standards for me.Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.0 -
totally on the same page as the guy/girl ahead of me... why the fuck is someone who has like 13000 posts on here putting down pearl jam? why should i read anything you have to say? i hate soundgarden with the exception of rusty cage and the day i tried to live and i do not even know if they have a message pit like this...however i would never go to that site to tell diehard fans that i do not like what they put out...and what the fuck is the matter with people, let alone "pearl jam fans"...that think that "pearl jam" is not just a great fucking album...what is it? ...big wave? inside job? army reserve?...because in my opinion those are arguably the best 3 weakest songs on any album i know...i thoroughly enjoy the whole album because it really is great...including those 3 songs...and the beauty of pearl jam is that there is someone on this board whose favorite 3 songs off of avacado are big wave inside job and army reserve...and i just think that is great...i dont speak my mind often, just read, but i just got pissed off...don't get me started on the the fucking guy/girl who said earlier that they havent put out anything good since vs. ...makes me assume they have cyndi lauper's greastest fucking hits in their cd player right now
totally forgot...metallica hasn't put anything good since 1988...and i just hate them now..."i've loved turn to hate""I never make plans that far ahead"0 -
Nine Inch Nails.
Everthing since The Fragile - the last 4 releases - is shit.
I'm honestly shocked nobody else has mentioned Trent Rezner. He rocked the early 90s and started to fade in late 90s and has devolved into what his drivel is today - all computerized, retread crap.__________________

Smashing Pumpkins - my once favourite band are now a big pile of shite. I absolutely hate Zeitgeist.
Foo Fighters - if they were even any good to start with.....
KoRn - ditto.....'The more I studied religions the more I am convinced that man never worshipped anything but himself.' - Sir Richard Francis Burton0 -
I think Kylie Minogue has really gone down hill, since classics like Locomotion and I should Be So Lucky catapulted her to fame in the late eightes, I mean shit that Slow song just doesnt hold a candle to the aforementioned. Can not be arsed with life no more.0

Because the other music forum is about more than Pearl Jam.
Sorry If i've further upset any diehard PJ fans who can't accept that the last two albums have been less than excellent. Frankly, they sucked-I didn't like them with the exception of a few songs. Doesn't change the quality of their previous work. Deal with it.0 -

Besides which the Slip is recorded with the line up about to go out on tour and Dave Grohl drummed on a few of the With Teeth tracks, so its far from all computerized in fact The Slip is more organic than The Fragile as records go, as a lot of that was recorded by Reznor on his own.Can not be arsed with life no more.0 -

I understand why people might not be a fan of the newer NIN material (I am a huge fan and i'm not keen on The Slip, and I don't like Ghosts very much), but at least Trent doesn't sit back and try to recreate The Downward Spiral to make money. It would be very easy for him to try and cash in on his earlier successes, but instead he wants to constantly change his sound and direction. That may take him to places that you, and a lot of other fans don't like, but it doesn't make the music "shit". Just because you don't like something, it doesn't make it shit.
As someone else has said, With Teeth in a strong album, and I think Year Zero is fantastic. I understand why people wouldn't like it, and why they wouldn't enjoy the "computerised crap", but I think it's a good album. And hey, have you ever listened to Pretty Hate Machine? Is that drum machines and synthesizers I hear?
As I said, i'm not a huge fan of The Slip (just sounds like With Teeth and Year Zero out takes to me), but fair play to the man for giving the album away for free.~AKA Dave-of-the-dead~
