these are from a 9-11 benefit concert, that i was lucky enough to attend and go backstage . I met Bruce & Patty that night- along with the keyboard player from bon jovi ( the guy with the curly hair - totally cool ) , Joan Jett, Southside Johnny , Pat DiNofrio(?) & The Smithereens , & Kevin Smith .
From up in the front on the sidestage area , I was wacthing the Sun Rythm Band, ( Elvis' band )and when much to my surprise , i look to my immediate left, and whos rubbing shoulders with me and watching the band(s) ? - Bruce !
Bruce and The E street Ban re-unite live on David Lettermans Show, on 4-5-1995 .This is one of their " hardest " songs, - one in which I would love to hear a full- band Pearl Jam cover !

You know, I've never been that into this song. I mean, it's not a bad song, but I certainly understand why it was left off of Born i the USA.
Thanks for all the links.
I've always really liked that song. It might be heresy to say, but I think Bruce would have been even more legendary if there were a little bit more hard-rock edge to his stuff.
It's a town full of losers and I'm pulling out of here to win

It's weird, because I usually love heavy music first and foremost, but I don't think Springsteen sounds nearly as good when he's doing heavy music. For example "Adam Raised a Cain" is one of my least favorite of his songs.
I like his big band stuff like Kitty's Back. I also love his country arrangements, like when he plays Mansion on the Hill with petal steel and an accordion (the best accordion you will hear in rock is at a Springsteen concert). I guess my favorite thing about him is that he can do so many things you can't do with a four piece, and make the music seem raw, spontaneous, and exciting. Like, who would have known that Betterman would sound so natural with piano and sax?!?
I certainly think some of Bruce's less popular stuff is edgy. Not hard-rock edgy, but edgy nonetheless. Nebraska is a haunting song, and many of the characters on his first couple albums were up to no good.
Oh, and BTW, The Wild, The Innocent, & the E Street Shuffle is the most underrated record. Ever.
i would agree that Bruce is able to switch smoothly from 1 medium or style to the next , and then back again when / if he desires.
as ii mentioned D & Dust tour was more hands on-- all bruce ,
SSB a whole new spin on century old spirituals, / folksongs
TGOTJ , Nebraska all darker and more mysterious
and of course the ESB we aree all accustomed to .
like over this past summer, i was able to go see john fogerty in NJ , and Bruce was in the middle of the Seeger Sessions Band Tour but yet he came out and made a special appearance, and he showed his versatility and jammed electric with fogerty .
i love every springsteen album , .. from 1 to the next

I was at the Devils game at the Meadowlands last night and didn't see Bruce, but I heard a post-game radio interview with the Devils owner Jeff Vanderbeek, and he said that Bruce was at the game with his son Sam. Apparently Vanderbeek is a Bruce fan and he had him in his suite for at least part of the game. He said it was Bruce's first time at a hockey game. Not much else was discussed except for Vanderbeek saying he hopes that Bruce will one day play at the Devils new arena in Newark which is scheduled to open next season.
I guess Bruce is no longer in the islands, or Nashville, or Atlanta.......
wow
maybe bruce is secretly a NYR fan- they were here long before Los Diablos.
We all know Bruce is one of the biggest NY Yankee fans,.....

Oklahoma Home just owns-- as does the other DVD from that set. Just unreal.
Best Live Act: Pearl Jam
"We'll be frank: PJ can win this award any given year. But that's part of the definition of a great live act- sustained intensity. Vedder and company are to Gen X what Springsteen and E Street are to postboomers."
