Hey @Bathgate66 - what's the word on the new solo album? I thought it was originally a Q1 release for 2017 and then aimed for fall of 2017. When I heard of the residency, I thought the solo album would be tied to it.
Not sure where I first read this but I found it again on Wikipedia:
"The song ["Like a Rolling Stone] had a huge impact on Bruce Springsteen
who was 15 years old when he first heard it. Springsteen described the
moment during his speech inducting Dylan into the Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame in 1988 and also assessed the long-term significance of "Like a
Rolling Stone": The first time I heard Bob Dylan, I was in the car with
my mother listening to WMCA and on came that snare shot that sounded
like somebody'd kicked open the door to your mind ... The way that Elvis
freed your body, Dylan freed your mind, and showed us that because the
music was physical did not mean it was anti-intellect. He had the vision
and talent to make a pop song so that it contained the whole world. He
invented a new way a pop singer could sound, broke through the
limitations of what a recording could achieve, and he changed the face
of rock'n'roll for ever and ever "
This is interesting to me because Springsteen was just a year older than
I was and the song had the same influence on him as it did me-- and
many others no doubt.

I'm pretty sure that's the correct URL for his official boots. I can't open it on my phone because, well, this app sucks. But I'm fairly certain it's correct.

Springsteen is awesome but it has to be tough to create something new that sounds new when you have been writing music so long. This single isn't really grabbing me.

New album on Friday. I think this is gonna be an album you listen to in the morning on the front porch. Nothing really grabbing me on the first three released songs. Sounds like background music.
I encourage Bruce to make whatever the f he wants. As long as he is making music, the world is a better place..
+ 1 people who shit on bruce and/or his new cd gotta get over them selves and move on the dude is in a league of his own, regardless of where he is today and he will be somewhere else tomorrow... RESPECT is a word people forget about

I think the reason they may not like the new stuff is because they have in fact moved on.
Haha...Bruce is awesome. I'm just not digging the style of music on this new record. It is where he is at musically right now but not where I'm at in my musical taste right now. Best American artist of all time though.

I think he was just trying something new on this solo album. I like what I have heard so far. But I doubt the new E-street album will be anything like this.
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...
I was hoping this would be like a follow up to Nebraska, sort of how Harvest Moon is a follow up to Harvest. But it definitely is not as dark as that masterpiece.
