Even if only an abbreviated 80 minutes ,
us Americans sure can take away something from that British crowds lead !

    It was humungous out there,
they are some real troopers to endure what they had to , for so long ,
in that massive clusterfuck of a crowd.
Bruce clearly didnt care for the huge ammount of space between his stage and the crowd- it limited some of his usual interactions with them . Not to mention the huge staircase up and down ( he needs an elevator )

Bruce and the entire band were spot on,
Little Steven couldnt contain himself during the usual schtick , ( " over curfew- Boss time " )
And there may have ben a time where the boys may have dyed their hairdos, but evidently , theyre going gray nowadays - especially Bruce and Max )

The Big man is looking more and more fraile onstage , everytime you see him, ugh ! I felt an element of sadness here because clearly this cant keep going on , for too much longer.

Cant wait to see the rest when my DVD package arrives.
The Gaslight Anthem guy makes an appearance, which we didnt get to see tonight at the screening .

Yeah, I remember Clarence had trouble walking during that show. But he did nail the Jungleland solo. I remember the crowd being so quiet during the last part it was spine chilling.

I've yet to receive my package from Sony though. Have you got yours already?

Hyde Park was an awesome show. Shame he went on so long we had to leave to get the train and missed the end. The DVD will be mine.

Got the Hyde Park DVD from the pre-order on his site and got the package in the mail the day it came out. FINALLY watched it last night and I loved it. I love how he grabbed the signs from audience members for songs to play. Jungleland gave me chills and also American Land. That was awesome. I also loved the first time he went up and down the stairs and said they need an elevator.

Nike SB Dunk High “Bruce Springsteen”

    http://nicekicks.com/2010/03/nike-sb-du ... ringsteen/

With apologies to Jon Bon Jovi, The Boss is New Jersey’s most famous son, and an American rock legend. This Summer, Bruce Springsteen will be paid tribute with this special Nike SB Dunk High.

Taking cues from Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” album cover, denim is used for the toe, midfoot and foxing, while navy blue fills in the mid-panel behind a red Swoosh. On the collar, red and white stripes appear as an ode to the American flag that hangs in front of Bruce on the cover. These will reportedly release at New Jersey Skateshop first as a QS sometime later this year.

these were released today in the 3 sole NJ locations.( http://www.NJSkateshop.com ) So of course I had to drive to Sayreville, NJ, so that I could buy my
limited Born In The USA / Bruce Nike hightops. I got the skatedeck too, F'n awesome. !

Darkness reissue package almost done, documentary premieres next month

Today's Shore Fire press release reads: "Bruce Springsteen, Jon Landau Management, and Columbia Records are working on completing a new package related to Darkness on the Edge of Town, which will include the new Thom Zimny film The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town. Further details will be announced when they are finalized."

Zimny created the Wings For Wheels doc for the Born to Run 30th Anniversary box; before his new film about Darkness comes home on DVD, it will premiere at the 35th Toronto International Film Festival on September 14, according to the press release.

Speaking to IndieWIRE, festival documentary programmer Thom Powers says that The Promise draws on "a treasure trove of footage from the 1970s. You see all the twists and turns of the making of this album. And we're the first people to announce that this film even existed... It's been in the works for a couple years now in total secrecy. And we're very proud to be presenting it."

The description of the film from TIFF.net: "The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town takes us into the studio with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band for the recording of their fourth album. Grammy and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Thom Zimny has collaborated with Springsteen on this documentary, gaining access to never before seen footage shot between 1976-1978, capturing home rehearsals and recording sessions that allow us to see Springsteen's creative process at work."

TIFF runs from September 9 - 19. According to the festival website, a confirmed schedule will be posted August 24. Tickets are available now.

Just to add on to this great news:

HBO will air the Bruce Springsteen docu "The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town" in October.

From director Thom Zimny, who has worked with Springsteen on several projects, film captures the tumultuous time Springsteen had between "Born to Run" and "Darkness," his fourth album.

For much of that 1975-78 time period, Springsteen was entangled in a lawsuit with his former manager Mike Appel that prevented him from recording any songs. Doc will offer never-before-seen footage, including home rehearsals.

"The Promise" will also unspool at the Toronto Film Festival, to be held in September.
