The guys at Michael's were trying to convince me to dry mount my posters, which I did NOT do. Have any of you ever done this?
When i was at Michaels talking to them about framing my 3 s/n klausen posters, the lady i was talking to was adamant in making sure that since they were signed that i made sure that they were not dry mounted.

I like the Ed with the stub, etc. Are you planning to do any "special" with the dusseldorf? btw, i'd just like to say - i love this thread...its INVALUABLE in figuring out what to do BEFORE I frame. I will soon have an 08 DC to share with the group....
thanks, as far as the Duss I will probably just grab a standard metal frame and some glass. I was thinking of cutting my own wood for the frame but I will do that with my CCFA Hawaii print I think. I have the Orange and Blue one and I was thinking of making a dual frame.
I know what you mean. Mine is 53.5 x 34.5. It is over the couch in the living room, and it is almost as long as the couch.
I actually thought about doing what you did but for my NJ Camden and ER posters. I don't have the wall space for anything like that right now. Not until I finish my basement. Maybe next year. Yours looks really sweet though, great job on that.

I started a separate thread for this the other day because I forgot about this thread. I also need to get some pics up of the Fargo poster that I had framed as a X-mas present for my brother in law.
That looks very cool............
IS the book below the sniper book the same thing?..........
What room is it hanging in??
A store which normally sucks (aka Michael's), actually had some damn good frames for 50% off making them around 20 bucks each w/ glass. I got 5 posters framed for a total of about $160.00..not too shabby...here's some pics..

I have the front and back of the Sniper program. The back of the program is a smaller image of the East Coast blue Eddie poster. I have it hanging in my living room directly over the couch. (it is almost as long the couch)

how were they so cheap? i just got one poster framed at a michaels and it was like 145. explain to me please, and it was 145 after 50% off
they were ready made frames .. (includes frame and glass) normally $40-50 bucks ...they were half off so $20-25 bucks. I opted not to get mats for a few because of the style of one of the frames made it appear to have a mat already ..I ended up buying 2 mats total...wala...if you are lucky you can catch that sale sometime.
I will never get custom frames from Micheals...on their 50% sales they just raise their prices.
I was quoted 60 bucks for a price for a 30x20 piece of regular glass...RIP OFF!!!...esp since I ended up finding a 30x20 frame w/ glass for $20.00 at their store!!!
i gotta post my pictures, the frame looks great, but will never pay that much again. i have so many posters to be framed, but couldn't do it for that much.

I have been reading this message board for a long long time and have never posted. I saw this thread and thought I would pop up my framed posters for everyone to have a look at. Let me know what you think.
I get these done extremely cheap by a custom framer in town. After seeing what everyone else pays I feel pretty happy about how much I have paid. These are only a few of what I have done. Thanks for taking a look.

Thanks.... I wanted to do something cool with the Batman print and the frame is as close to the orange in the poster as you can get. It turned out well.

yeah that batman really got me thinking. i may have to steal your ideas. actually its usually what i do with the posters that have multiple colors like that. use a frame or mat that matches one of the obscure colors on the print. its what i did with my hawaii 2006 ames, i actually used a dark orange to almost brown mat, its different but i think it looks great, plus it allowed me to use an all dark wood frame that reminds me of my life on maui.
i really dig the batman print framed like that...
i also like what you did with the EV east coast. i have both of these prints and they are about 4th and 5th in line for the framer...so im always looking for ideas. very nice job.
Question: are those pre-maid mats you folks are using archival? is the glass uv protective? or do you have to go custom to get these features?

I continue to be impressed by the EV Chicago print and how great it looks in so many different frame jobs. Its weird, the image itself doesnt speak to me, but as a framed piece it looks like incredible, impressive art. Congrats and enjoy

The mats that are used in all of my prints are custom along with the frames. The guy I use is awesome. My most expensive one was my Batman print which only cost me $90 and the rest run from $60-$70.
sorry bout the poor quality, biuying a new digital and when theyre hung, will take better pics. Now if only I could get my wife to let me spend coin on framing all of the other 25 or so?

First - well done my friend...these look very nice indeed...since you brought it up (and i'm always curious as well as to where to get the best deals on framing...) can I ask ball park what you're local framer is charging? not sure if you pay to get the uv glass (i've never understood why to do that unless its going to be in direct sun), but i know that drives up prices...

Here's my latest add to the collection....I'm liking how it turned out...typically my taste is to tend towards picking browns in terms of frames and mats, which tend to go with the rest of my house...

The poster obsession continues...
