So i go into Micheal's last night to pick up a framed poster(non PJ related) and he tells me that he thought I was the only one to bring in Pearl Jam posters to be framed. Turns out that someone other then me has brought in 2 posters, one from Seattle, the other one i am not sure about. Just thought that was really cool. :)

    Think that was me. :D

    oh great questions....

I know of 8 of these sets in the hands of fellow collectors and friends. I Know of one where the outer box was lost also and I know of another that was sadly lost.

I have trawled the internet to find the email address of the graphic designer of it - without luck. I contacted a fellow collector who knew the designer in germany years ago but he had sadly lost his email address :(

I have contacted Sony over the years to get further info and have ascertained that the box was mostly given to Sony execs at the time....and maybe a few comp winners although im unsure on this.

I know the last one sold for 388 euros in 2007 (december), before that they didnt sell for much like this. The item isnt so well known outside the collecting circle so it doesnt attract the casual buyer, even so I personally believe the value is more now. much more and Im willing to pay a lot if the chance arose. probably a crazy amount. I did in fact do so before xmas, struck the deal I had been chasing for years and years. agreed a price, paid the money. And sat back, OVER THE MOON (stupidly telling a few friends in the collecting world of my mega news), and sat back waiting for it to arrive. 6 days later, at a funeral of all places, I got an email from the seller saying he had changed his mind and couldnt sell it anymore. Its fair to say i was gutted off the chart. Seriously for a few days there I was so disappointed and dejected i considered quitting. 4 bloody days before xmas. But life goes on and I got over it, had to have a little word with myself....there are people in the world who dont know when they will eat next and i was getting proper upset over a bloody cd. I got a refund sent to me (that i really didnt want to accept) on Xmas day.

So the value is hard to quantify properly but its fair to say i would pay a huge sum for it, it means a lot to me to get it at long last. Why do i want it so bad? its rarity has a small part to play, but more the item itself....to me its an awesome promo and the last big item in the promo circle that i need, other than perhaps the brazilian Especial promo. Its hard to explain i guess, but I wont consider my collection as nearly complete without it.

As a last throw of the dice, I have a friend In Germany who is in touch with Sony Germany's promo dept making some tentative enquiries as to whether one can be located, or at least the graphic designer (who funny enough also did the two berlin radio specials covers too - silk screened as well)....otherwise if that fails my enquiries for now, will fall flat.....I will then have to think hard in how I reapproach this again.

i expect this may all sound very dull!!!!!

not seen one for a while....

not since June 2010 - i recall the price dropped a lot too as many collectors have it so demand isnt so bad now.

as for mine, I see it sat on that shelf for some time im afraid :(

  • I love my new office. Did not go nuts w/ the framing, but they still look good. The 2005 Borgata looks amazing up close.

I also have my ticket stubs framed on the bookshelf. If you look close enough in the second picture, you can see the 1996 personalized ticket stub for Randall's Island. It's on the top shelf of the book shelf... underneath the middle Spectrum 2 poster.

The framer is an artist in his own right and did a great job on those 2. I also got the last Jazz Fest poster done but I wasn't as crazy about it.

Interesting mat choice.... I'm pretty sure I had the colour in my hand at one point when I was framing mine, but put it back cause it didn't go with the red (mine and the gf's bedroom has a red thing going on, and that's where this was getting put).

Got any more picks? maybe something where I can see it a little closer?
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

I am not sure so much about this, LA Ames 06 looks really nice but some other stuff he has done it's too much in my opinion, it is amazing work don't get me wrong but you end up looking more the frame job then the art in it, it should be all about art / poster.
I can't imagine the wall with 10 frames like this...you would get dizzy watching that wall

Thanks for the link... The NOLA BK print on there looks fantastic... I'm actually thinking I might contact this guys to get something done....

Like Niko said though, I couldn't see having a house full of these it would be a little overwhelming... one, however, done right, would be pretty kool....
