Fans of quality songwriting do. No more songs like 'No More' and 'World Wide Suicide'.
  • I like the political stuff.

So because a song is political means that its not a good, well written song? Like good songwriters throw all their talent out the window when writing political songs? RIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHTTTTTTTTT....

Why shouldn't anyone, including artists, keep up their vigilance of important affairs that matter to them, even if there's a new guy in charge?

    youre an idiot..

I don't think it would be possible for No More to be a good song regardless of the subject matter. And I didn't see the original poster say all political songs were badly written, you put those words in his mouth. Next time you call someone an idiot, try to remember the apostrophe in you're.
  • You Unpatriotic Terrorists! Political messages are very important!
A child's rhyme stuck in my head...
It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.

I kinda agree with the OP, I find the liberal political views of multi millionaires very boring. I love Eddie, but I don't need to know how he votes.

Laughs, and I just watched that Vote For Change? movie in it's entirety last night and thought how much I missed hearing the song "I Am a Patriot." What a terrific song. Same with the political bent that "It's Okay" took on in 2006 at The Gorge. Great fucking tune.

That said, I too hope that they new administration makes us all a little happier about the direction of the country and then maybe we all can focus on other things.

Pearl Jam has always been a political band, and they will always be a political band.
If you don't like them talking politics, don't go to their concerts. I'm sick of people complaining about it. They're not a jukebox, they're a band, and they have a right to their opinions!

    First, 'half the show' please.

Also, unless the war does end, he will still protest it, I guarantee it!

I also wish separately, that we could tally how many times Bill Clinton was referred to as William Jefferson Clinton, and how many times the first George Bush, Sr. was referred to as George Herbert Walker Bush, and how many times did we refer to his son as George Walker Bush.

Do you have a problem with the fact that his middle name is Hussein? If so, why does it bother you? I'm just wondering.

Was that a slam on liberals? Would it be different for you if they weer conservative views? Would that suite you better? I am just trying to figure out where you complaint actually lies.

It would be just as tainted whatever the views. I have no desire to know how anyone else votes, least of all a rock and roll star. I've seen Robert Plant come out with the same stuff, I adore Plant even more than I adore Ed, and believe me I scoot off to the bar as soon as Percy starts with his Bush...blah, blah.
It wouldn't 'suite' me either way dude :) I just like the songs they sing.

yeah, they have every right to their opinions. But I don't agree that they have always been a political band, or even that they are a political band now. They didn't seem at all political to me in 1992 in London, when Eddie dived on our heads during the mid section of Porch. They just seemed like the best new rock band I'd heard for a good few years, and that's what I think of them as. A great rock and roll band :)
