I can't say I have looked for slop but I don't recall much of it. They definitely pushed songs through at insane tempos sometimes but that doesn't always mean sloppy.
I kind of got the feeling that they were focusing on quality since they reduced set times a few years back. Songs are played at recorded tempo and we get more repeats night to night.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

I can’t believe news of Matt’s departure never leaked.
There was no chatter on here, or anywhere, that I saw. Not suggesting I’m the most diligent consumer of PJ info, but lots of people love to share rumors before they’re officially announced, and there wasn’t a peep0 -

I wonder if the gap after tour to announcement was for Matt to confirm he really did want to leave and not change his mind.
But equally, I can see how tour dates leak if contacts at venues pass on rumours much harder in a small close knit group like the band deciding something major0 -
I believe there were murmurs before Pittsburgh about a member leaving not sure what thread It was.jesus greets me looks just like me ....0

Someone said in one of these threads that there were rumors in Nashville that someone in the band was leaving but that person never put much thought into it as it seemed quite unbelievable at that point.0

After listening to Dark Matter, a lot of the lyrics are about fractured relationships, breaking up and wonder if they are about Matt? Wreckage, Scared of Fear, Setting Sun, upper hand, got to give. Makes sense if Matt made the decision before they started recording DM.0

I was at the gate at DFW on the way to Nashville after a day of delays when I got the rumor. I was talking with another PJ fan when he asked me if I had heard the rumor. He then grabbed a PJ fan couple from San Diego and they told me what they told him. I didn't know these people and they were giving info that I just couldn't fully square in my head. A band member was leaving the band after Pittsburg. I, of course, asked who. They paused and then said Mike. I was stunned and in shock and went back to conversing with the other PJ fan and we agreed that the couple was just talking shit.
I thought about posting, but why? I had no real knowledge of anything and if Mike were leaving it was too much to really imagine.
Not trying to cause or be anything, but I know that they knew for a while that Matt was leaving.
I guess I'm an insider when random people tell me crazy shit at an airport because I'm wearing a PJ t-shirt.Soldier Field 7-11-95, Alpine Valley 6-26-98, United Center 6-29-98, Riverport Amphitheater (St. Louis)7-2-98, MGM Grand Arena 10-22-00, Sprint Center (Kansas City)5-3-10, Adams Event Center (Missoula)9-30-12, Wrigley Field 7-19-13, Jobing.com Arena (Phoenix)11-19-13, Moda Center (Portland)11-29-13, Spokane Arena 11-30-13, Pepsi Center (Denver)10-22-14, Gila River Arena (Phoenix)5-9-22, Moody Center (Austin)9-18-23, Moody Center 9-19-23, Rogers Arena (Vancouver)5-4-24, Rogers Arena 5-6-24, MGM Grand 5-16-24, MGM Grand 5-18-24, Wrigley Field 8-29-24, Wrigley Field 8-31-24, Nashville 5-6-25, Nashville 5-8-250 -

I've met other PJ fans with way too much impulse to spread news at the expense of others.Randall's Island, NY 9/29/1996, Randall's Island, NY 6/8/1997 (Ed and Mike), Jones Beach, NY 8/23/2000, Los Angeles, CA 7/10/2006, Hartford, CT 6/27/2008, Los Angeles, CA 10/6/2009, San Diego, CA 11/21/2013, Los Angeles, CA 11/24/2013, MSG, NY 5/1/2016, Seattle, WA 8/10/2018, Los Angeles, CA 5/6/2022, Los Angeles, CA 5/7/2022, Camden, NJ 9/14/2022, St Paul 8/31/2023, St Paul 9/2/2023, Las Vegas 5/18/24, MSG NY 9/3/24, Philadelphia PA 9/9/24, Ohana CA 9/27/24, Atlanta, GA 4/29/25, Pittsburgh, PA 5/16/25, Pittsburgh, PA 5/18/250
