  • MFC is a gentleman and a scholar.
I can attest to the former.
Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer

Anyway, I still love MC and wish him the absolute best, but it's unfortunate to hear that he really didn't seem stoked to be in the band anymore.
    This.
I tend to think he was just over it and wants to do his own thing.  The guy has been in the band for 27 years playing a lot of the same songs night in and night out.  I do think they scaled back the set lists over the last few tours because of him, but I think they did it for all members.  Jeff has admitted to not being a huge fan out touring, the band has cancelled and postponed shows due to Ed's voice being out, sickness, Covid, etc.  The guys are are all 60+ at this point.  I also wonder if Matt thinks he's "just the drummer".  He hasn't had a ton of creative input on most albums (at least not acknowledged)...he's been replaced due to illness a couple of times...  again, maybe he want's to do more creative stuff.  I dunno.
I love Matt and am sad to see him go, but I'm happy for him.

Wow. That was rough. I love Matt,  l miss him and know he’ll do great with all his future work. I love Ed and his chattiness at shows, it’s entertaining, inspiring, and makes me feel close to the band in a FAN way-no delusions. I love PJ, I’ll go see them no matter how long or short their shows are. Also, if they did short shows, the cost would go down, their tickets already lower than many other high ranking bands. All the love to our PJ community ❤️

In lieu of Soundgarden's upcoming induction in the Rock N' Roll HoF and months just accepting MFC will no longer be the drummer of PJ, my wife and I came up with a t-shirt idea for Matt F'ing Cameron. Would love to know what y'all think.

^ So apt! An end of era for PJ, and an end of an era for pop culture... I'd like to see a yellow variant as well:
    Athens 2006 / Milton Keynes 2014 / London 1&2 2022 / Seattle 1&2 2024 / Dublin 2024 / Manchester 2024 / New Orleans 2025

Good stuff, well done! Not sure the younger folks would catch the MTV motif, haha

I think MC leaving greatly diminishes my chances of seeing Evacuation live.  Lucky I even got to see You Are.

They should look no further than Jeff Friedl...awesome, powerful and a little younger than the rest of the band.

I'm sure he's joking about the RRHOF but who knows what to make about whether they're looking. Could be cheeky, could be accurate.

Yes, I’m sure they found a drummer long ago and are keeping it under wraps until the next single/album release

Y’all remember mid-‘23 Stone said the album that turned out to be DM was on the five yard line or whatever, and then a week later Jeff was like “it’s not even halfway done” and a month later Ed announced on stage in Tx that the album was finished? And during the press for it we learned it had been done since the spring?

They say what they say until they are ready to make an announcement. Take it with a grain of salt.

It’s been a Pretty quiet few months in PJ land. We’ve seen the band members pop up here and there. What a perfect time to tune up with a new drummer, rehearse and practice the old tunes, jam and noodle on some new ones.

this. bands do this all the time. one of my favourites is doing this same thing. haven't put out a new record in 25 years. in separate interviews all 4 of them say different things. album's done. album's half done. we're recording a few songs. we got nothing done yet. so silly.
