Wow... From the way this is written and the band's response, it definitely feels like there's more to the story. Regardless, I wish him the best—he’s clearly talented and shouldn't have any trouble finding new opportunities. Hoping the band finds a drummer who brings fresh energy to this next chapter!
Same drummer for the last 27 years after a rotating cast for the 1st 7 or so... yeah, I'm real curious where they go from here. It's not as if he was an original member, but at this point he may as well be.. starting from scratch w/ a new member after all this time & stability isn't going to be easy.
I feel like this goes back to Taylor’s death. Matt took that very hard and then you saw the live shows go way down in time. And a lighter schedule as well. Maybe he just doesn’t want to do it anymore. I just hope the band continues on. Get Dave K or Jack back. Ugh, this sucks so bad.
Genuinely saddened by this but grateful for everything Matt has brought to the band, he's been such an influence and creative force. Intrigued for what's next.

It will be interesting to see who PJ chooses to replace him. Do they keep it local by getting someone with Seattle ties? Do they take the best drummer free agent in the market with Josh Freese? So many possibilities.
