Meanwhile, their hosts spread conspiracy theory. Promote bullshit ideas and denigrate those fighting these fires

damn.. AET has become AMT. What started out as a positive thread has turned into an AMT location. If I'm wrong, please disregard my ignorance. Move this thread to AMT maybe? This discussion is no longer about those dealing with the fire, it's turned into opinions and politics. Move this to AMT and keep AET a place where discussion is still civil about random things that don't involve AMT anger? Once again, forgive my ignorance if I am out of place. Take care of each other, we need each other folks.

The AMT thread got shut down but still, fair enough Attaway.  I'll cop to being one of the guilty ones here.  I deleted any post of mine that was at all political.  If everyone agrees to do the same or at least not make any more political posts from here going out, I'll be on board here.  If we can't to that, I'll just move on.
    Thanks for the good suggestion.

Also, I'm going to expire here on 3/25/25.  When I started here, I was a better person and I don't like who I've become here lately.  In a couple of months, I'll be leaving and working on becoming that better me again.

All good my man, all opinions and discussions on any issues are important, that's what makes PJ forum a great place for fans to speak. We're all adults. I'm just simply suggesting maybe move this to AMT, that's where a lot of the "get down to the dirt and let's discuss" subjects happen. I look at AET as a place for random stuff (did I turn my library book in, shit, I had that on dvd now I need blu ray, movie scene, did you see that flying comet the other day, how's the weather in your town, are the pets doing ok, cats, dogs, new shoes, football and food) kind of stuff. I see AMT as, shit is getting real so be ready to discuss and know what you're talking about if you are coming in. That's just me, ignore my ignorance. Hope all is well with ya my man.

Naw brother, no need for that. This is a great place for discussion, don't rob yourself of that just for others point of views, we all have them. Stick around, chime in every once in a while, doesn't have to be everyday. You're old school here brother, stick around a little longer, we all could use some wisdom from each other. Soon enough most of us will no longer be on this forum and this band will no longer be part of our lives. Stick around until then, word has it PJ has at least another 2-3 albums left in them, that's some good years still ahead of us. Cheers buddy.. BUT, do what you have to do for you, if leaving here will make you happier, go do it.

Yeah, but in fairness, those companies aren't trying to pay off a $787M fine for lying to their gullible audience about the 2020 election.

Bruce Willis is showing his appreciation for those keeping everyone in Los Angeles safe during the wildfires

In a recent Instagram post shared by his wife, Emma Heming, the 69-year-old actor appears in a black and white video shaking hands and having a conversation with Los Angeles Police officers with the Led Zeppelin song "Going to California" playing in the background.

"Spotting a first responder, Bruce never missed a chance to show his gratitude with a heartfelt handshake and a 'thank you for your service,'" Heming captioned the post. "Yesterday was no different."

Wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap and a light jacket over his black shirt and jeans, Willis also posed for photos with the officers.

The "Die Hard" star was making a rare public appearance since announcing his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis in 2023.

"This makes my heart so freaking full," his daughter, Tallulah Willis, wrote in the comments section, adding a heart emoji.

Willis' wife, Heming, has been open about how the disease has affected not only Willis, but the spouse of someone diagnosed with dementia.

She recently shared an emotional post marking her 17th wedding anniversary with Willis featuring a photo of the two of them smiling as they embraced on a beach in Turks and Caicos.

In the post, she reflected on how her feelings about celebrating the special day have changed since he received his diagnosis, writing that while the day "used to bring excitement," now it leaves her with "a heaviness in my heart and a pit in my stomach."

"I give myself 30 minutes to sit in the ‘why him, why us,’ to feel the anger and grief," she wrote in the caption. "Then I shake it off and return to what is. And what is… is unconditional love. I feel blessed to know it, and it’s because of him. I’d do it all over again and again in a heartbeat."

Heming and Willis first met in 2007 and stepped out for the first time as a couple in 2008, tying the knot in March 2009 at a ceremony in Turks and Caicos.

Since getting married, they have welcomed two daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10. Their two daughters join Willis' three older daughters from his previous marriage to actress Demi Moore: Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30.

Moore and Willis were married for 13 years, from 1987 to 2000, and they have remained good friends and co-parents since their divorce, often spending holidays, birthdays and other important days together.

"What I say to my kids is you meet them where they’re at. You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment," Moore said on "The Drew Barrymore Show" in September 2024 about the advice she gives her daughters about their father's condition.

"And, from that, there is such beauty and joy and loving and sweetness."

She added, "When I’m in L.A., I go over every week, and I really treasure the time that we all share."

Hey Bri, I really enjoyed reading your comments over the years. Sorry to hear you’re leaving soon.

Thanks, L.  It's the right thing for me to do.   When I first came here, there was a lot of great discussion.  The vibe was positive and most of the people were friendly.  But over the years, it's become more and more caustic, especially with the infiltration of bating, low bar, moronic trolls whose prime objective is patterned after their so-called "hero", the object being to tear things down and create chaos.
And most of all, I do not like how I have allowed myself be dragged down to what I see as a pointless and base level, and become complicit in the toxic interactions here, and thus become someone I am neither happy with, nor proud of.  I need to use the quickly dissipating time that is my life to do something more useful, and joy filled, and creative.
If I can find my way back to the better person I know I can be, and if things start looking up here again, I may return some day.  It's possible, and I will lurk from time to time and see how it goes.  But one thing for sure, if the endless negative, bating, bickering, pointless quarreling, and especially the childish trolling continues to characterize this place, I will have to keep my distance.
This has not been an easy decision.  I'm not good at saying goodbye.

Altadena Girls launched a free store in a Boyle Heights warehouse this week. While the location has closed, they will be welcoming teens and students affected by the fires to shop at their new location in Pasadena.
(Allen J. Schaben / Los Angeles Times)

At these free shops in L.A., fire victims can pick up new clothes and ‘a bit of happiness’

    Jan. 15, 2025 5:04 PM

In the outpouring of community support that has swelled with the L.A. fires, several “free shops” have popped up around Southern California. These are places where victims can shop for new and gently used clothes, shoes, accessories, essentials, toys and more, all free of charge. Some are set up like boutiques — shoppers can sift through thoughtfully curated racks of items, from puffer jackets to denim, and be assisted by volunteer stylists.

“They’ve already been through enough,” says Melynda Choothesa, owner of Quirk in downtown Los Angeles, which is hosting a free boutique that’s stocked with both basics and vintage gems.

She says she wants to create an honorable and beautiful experience for guests, adding, “They don’t need to feel like they are some charity case.” For survivors who’ve lost their beloved belongings, routine acts such as picking out new clothes can help them gain a sense of stability.

Here’s a list of free shops that have recently opened. If you’re looking to donate items, check with each project for specific guidelines.

The lineup for the FireAid benefit concert, a musical event set up to aid the relief efforts following the deadly and devastating Los Angeles wildfires, has been announced.

Among the artists who are performing at the concert are native Angelenos Billie Eilish, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Gracie Abrams, along with Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Pink, Gwen Stefani, Tate McRae, Earth, Wind & Fire, Green Day, Jelly Roll, Joni Mitchell, Lil Baby, Rod Stewart, Sting, Stephen Stills and Stevie Nicks. Dave Matthews and John Mayer will also be performing, together for the first time.

The performances will take place on January 30 at two venues, the Kia Forum and the new Intuit Dome, both located in the Los Angeles city of Inglewood.

Additional artists and special guests will be announced in the coming days, according to a news release.

Viewers around the world will be able to watch, stream and make contributions to FireAid on several platforms including Apple Music, Apple TV, Max, KTLA+, Netflix/Tudum, Paramount+, Prime Video and more. The concert will also be broadcast on 860 iHeartRadio radio stations.

FireAid will raise money “for rebuilding communities devastated by wildfires and supporting efforts to prevent future fire disasters throughout Southern California,” according to the release.

Contributions will be distributed under the advisement of the Annenberg Foundation, which will “help coordinate a team to direct funds for the greatest impact” and provide “short-term relief efforts and long-term initiatives to prevent future fire disasters.”

Several deadly wildfires set Los Angeles County ablaze last week, with the sprawling city on Thursday finally seeing relief with calmer winds. The coastal Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire, on the east side of LA, have burned tens of thousands of acres and destroyed thousands of structures. At least 25 people have died and dozens are still missing, authorities have said.

Tickets for both concerts will go on sale on January 22 at 12 p.m. PDT on Ticketmaster.

Agree. Express your views. Don't be an asshole or attack others for their views. Don't source bullshit social media that is just based on data mining. A well expressed opinion with knowledge is welcome. Don't go @brianlux.

I'm sorry, but at the very least I need a good long break from this place starting mid March when my renewal date comes up.  There's too much trolling, too much anger, and too much hate here (the MAGA trolling is out of hand).  And other than trolling, which I don't do, I'm too often guilty of anger and angst.  I don't like who I am here.  I'll lurk now and then too see if things improve, and assess my own level of patience attitude.

    ‘Beacon of hope’

In one of the most striking images to emerge from the unfolding tragedy of the Los Angeles wildfires, a bright blue vintage Volkswagen van stands out miraculously untouched amid the destruction in Malibu.

The van’s owner, surf and skateboard designer Megan Krystle Weinraub, says her friends have always referred to the lucky vehicle as “the magic bus.”

“I just can’t believe that … my bus is the only thing that survived on the street that I walked by with my dog like every single day,” she told CNN’s Erin Burnett. “I’m speechless to see all the houses burnt, and I can’t believe that Azul the bus — that’s what we named it — survived,” she said.

The 1977 van, which she named after the Spanish word for “blue,” was previously owned by her friend Preston Martin, who lived in it for a year. The pair had gone surfing in the iconic leisure wagon the Sunday before the fires erupted, parking it in the Malibu neighborhood, reported The Associated Press.

“It’s so cool that it’s become this, like, beacon of hope,” Martin said. “Everything around it was toasted, just destroyed. And then here’s this bright blue shiny van, sitting right there,” Martin told AP.

    Trippy.

I have appreciated your posts and perspectives on these forums.

Sometimes I find distance from the past and nostalgia make the past years seems better than it was. We had many rebel rousers years ago (my few hands comes to mind, many others). Perhaps the sting currently is how bad tomorrow noon will be. It’s infuriating the events that lead to tomorrow, but it is what it is.

for now Brian, let’s have a song dedication to your good posts over the years…
