    Albany was my first USA gig. I guess I got lucky the next night in Hartford was the opposite experience. 
    06 was a great year.  
    The Astoria gig  in London before I went to USA was one of the nights of my life.

    Those 96 Portugal shows were some of the best.  Would make a great vault release.

    After listening to all of 2005 you might be slightly disappointed with 2006 even though it’s probably the last great year of live PJ until 2013-2014…

    Couldn’t disagree more. Yes 2005 > 2006 but 2009-2010 is fucking incredible. I would argue the best setlists and the last year Eddie could really scream

    Agree that 09-10 was incredible.  The setlists were so varied too.  There were a few flubs here and there but its to be expected.

    In all fairness the post said 2006 was the last great year of live PJ until 2013. I just disagree, I actually don’t like 2013. 
    But the last two nights of the Spectrum 2009, MSG 2 2010, Boston 2010, Buffalo 2010, and Hartford 2010 are some of the best shows this band has ever played. Oh and the Calgary and 9/11/11 Toronto shows are pretty epic too.

I'll also be honest and admit that most of my PJ listening is from 94-2005. After the Avocado tour there was a noticeable change where extending songs/jams became a lot less frequent which is the stuff that made me fall in love with the band. Back in the 90's and early 2000's it wasn't necessarily what they played, but how they played- 94 Porches, spacey RVM's from 2000-2003, etc.  Now what they play really matters a bit more as songs played in a much more standard structure for better or worse.

    I have never seen a bad Pearl Jam show covering 96 to 2024. Are some better than others? Of course.

Albany got an 11 minute Porch, RVM in Grand Rapids was about 13, etc. I kinda agree about the, let’s say, shambolicness of some of the ‘09-‘10 boots but when they were on they were really on, LA, the Spectrum & Hartford (the show I attended that run) for example.

    Unfortunately there is no jam or improv in Pearl Jam anymore.  The solos in songs like porch, rvm and black have been pretty much the same for years.  I wish they would go off on tangents like your two examples.

    In my previous post I did mention 2006 being a great year- just not the same level of epicness for me, but still very good.
