Honolulu 12/2 was my first PJ since 94 and was an insanely hot show. I recently relistened and sweet Jesus they are fired up from the first tune. Obviously strong attendance bias, but easily one of the best PJ shows I've ever heard and definitely my favorite attended, even over the Ten show

We were also lucky enough to have them open for U2 a week later, which was fun but not even close to the Blaisdell show

The version of porch from Albany is one of the best ever.   It s when their jams went somewhere.  Freaking phenomenal.

Im listening to Prague 2006 right now, crazy first encore with those 5 'Man's', and then start with Bu$hleaguer in the 2nd encore.

  • If you look up the times before Albany they played Mosquito, Satans, and Rats…it’s fucking wild they played all three in one show.

San Diego has the quintessential Long Road.

Torino has the full Avocado, also great otherwise.

But they're all fun to listen to with so many Avocado songs in the mix.

It was one of those nights that reminded you why you keep going to shows. Even if they are 2.5 hours away in a crappy city.

Boston 1 is my pick. Boston 2 may be the obvious choice, but the energy of Boston 1 was insane. Up there with best MSG and Philly shows.

East Rutherford shows… very odd that year.  They played the same three songs to open back to back shows in the same city…. Severed Hand, Corduroy, and WWS.  When was the last time that happened before or since?

Almost 20 years later and I’m still looking for an explanation! 😂
la1 has a very, very similar setlist to san diego, almost like the la1 set wasn’t thought about until the last second and ed or whoever just took the san diego set and swapped out a handful of songs and called it a day. it’s the closest i’ve seen them ‘play the same show’ on consecutive nights.

Santa Barbara is damn near perfection. Ed is on fire that night. Band is tight, maybe one small flub the entire show.

  • Just finished the main set of Newcastle. A few flubs but the band is very very different this night and just absolutely ripping. Eddie doesn’t even address the crowd until 35-40 minutes in. Can’t wait to start the encore in the morning.

  • The Europe boots are near perfect but this is probably my favorite Australia show. I just wish I got to experience long hair Eddie now at 35 years old than at 17…screaming, with his white pants on, headbanging..and then he sounds even better in 2010 and stone grows his hair out… sigh 😆

Loved the artwork on the 2006 bootlegs. Wish they kept Brad Klausen on all their CD Bootleg releases.

As for recommendations, the East Rutherford bootlegs were fantastic!

Started Boston 1 at the gym tonight. Great crowd, especially during LBC. Release and Animal tempos were slow to me. Looking forward to that second encore, looks fire. I miss Severed Hand early in the set.

  • Finished Boston 1. Insane they’ve been playing for 2+ hours and decide to close with Spin, DTE, Whipping, Rats, Comatose, RITFW
Moving to Europe. Was tempted to listen to Pistoia, Milan, Zagreb and Marseille for the 100th time but we’re gonna go with….Prague
I’ll be honest with you guys…everyone complaining about standard sets in 2024, but 2006 had a lot of “standard” setlists compared to 2003-2005 and 2009-2010. I think 2010 is when the true unknown was happening.
