Here’s my snobby review because I always have a wonderful time going to see Pearl Jam so that would be boring to just say over and over. So instead I’ll give my pluses and minuses compared to all my other concerts.
First my own fuck up: had no idea they were going to go on before 8! I missed the opener in the bathroom, oh well!
Had seats in field 69 which was nice. A little further back then expected but I liked being a little elevated. Sound was good
Beginning had a lot of energy with a lot of crowd favorites. Hail Hail is a great live song. Corduroy had a lot of call/response crowd interaction (as did better man later on).
ed sounded a little tipsy early and it let to some really enjoyable exchanges and stories (especially with cow man saying he was surprised he hadn’t been turned into hamburger by now and him telling a long meandering story about his childhood tree climbing only to come on after In my tree to say “oh yeah, I forgot the whole point of that story. The tree was called the green monster” lol). Love in my tree live btw.
I don’t think we will hear a ton of the new album again. They are fine but not memorable live to me. Ironically wreckage was the new one I enjoyed the most.
I wish even flow and DTE went into rotation instead of being staples. Sometimes they start to feel stale to me when they are amazing songs. By contrast Jeremy was just awesome. Everyone seemed pumped for that and the singing was the best all night. But I wouldn’t want that every night either. Didn’t help that DTE had like a full minute missing from the beginning so they messed it up quite a bit!
Momentum was great going into RVM and then they stopped awkwardly to check on the crowd. Honestly they should have just gone to encore right there since it was a reasonable place to stop the song. Starting it up for the last 30 seconds was … eh… we all just stood around. Then another interruption in just breathe.
I enjoy the slow encore starts and liked song of good hope. It would be cooler though if it was slow full band starts (hard to imagine or parting ways starts etc would be lovely). The transition from folksy sit down to blood was jarring though . Encore in general felt up and down. Energy then went all the way back down to zero for setting sun and ramped all the way back up for SOLAT. That combined with the stoppages and encore break made the second half of the show feel a little whiplashy.
RiTFW is always fun but agree with someone else on wishing it would be more rare. Fucking up is just as great. Also wouldn’t mind PJ stuff (why go? life wasted? Leash? Would love to hear all)

My 39th show and I 100% agree with all of this other than Wreckage, I think that song is awful, otherwise not great but a very very good show overall, looking forward to tomorrow!

My favorite part of Dark Matter is that stretch from Won't Tell to Running. I think it's as good as anything they've done this century. Really hoping it's well represented Tuesday.

How many times are you going to post that wreckage is awful? We all get it, you don’t like it. When you say it once it’s an opinion, when you repeat yourself it’s like a broken record. Not every song has to be your style, just skip to Dark Matter then. I think it’s great and sounded awesome live.

As much as I'd like since I know I'm not the only one and if it's ok to share how much you love a song not sure why the opposite can't be said as well. I'd like to see the Dark Matter songs performed that I think are way better and deserve to be played more.

Perfect show. So happy with that setlist and my first time ever setting foot in Fenway. I got all my favourites, and it was great to get the new DM songs. It’s our only show this tour, and We were thrilled to hear Wreckage and Setting Sun. Personal highlights were Corduroy (I have to have it), Betterman with SIFL ( my wife loves that song), In my Tree and SOLAT
What made this trip extra special was the lovely time we had in Boston. Bumping into Matt Cameron on Charles st in Beacon Hill yesterday was an added bonus. Oh and slight correction to the first post. It was John Krasinski and Justin Theroux who came out for RITFW. That was the cherry on top for my wife. We are huge Office fans.
And speaking of other fanboy moments we also bumped into this Bruins-killer at the show. Coming from Montreal this was a huge thrill. (For those of you who aren’t hockey fans that’s retired NHLer PK Subban)
Hit the MSG and Philly shows this tour and I thought last night was the best I've been to this year. The setlist was great, the energy was off the charts, and they just sounded fucking great. Awesome run. Can't believe these guys are 60 and still putting on shows like this.

I do understand the complaints back in 2021. It was a hard pill to swallow. But this year I think they perfected a formula. New , hits and a few deep for 25-27 songs. Can’t ask for more than that. Can’t see how anyone could be disappointed setlist wise. I do understand personal experiences due to seats or idiots around you affecting your review though.
Agreed. I think dissecting a set list, and asking why Out of My Mind was played where it was and how it affected the flow, is fine. But all in all, there was plenty of variety on this tour and they got back to much more normal number of songs and they really sound great!

Our tweet-sized take was: good show, but some of the people around us were awful. A lot of people were really, really drunk well before the band took the stage. And it’s hard to say how the sound was thanks to the two drunk dorks who loudly regaled each other with their wits The. Whole. Time. So, 👋 if you and your bud were in field box 22, shouting and shit-talking for 2.5 hours straight, you might want to tone it down tomorrow night (they told everyone they’ll be back); the very large man sitting next to you spent the show resisting the urge to stomp you both, and I doubt that many people have his patience and forbearance.
We managed to enjoy the show nonetheless. Ballpark shows are a different vibe than arena shows; I’m not a big fan of Fenway — it has a lot of history, but … it needs updating. Anyway: we are looking forward to tomorrow night.
The setlist looked incredible and just appreciate that our favorite band is still touring and still making/sharing great music. It’s disappointing to read ridiculous posts asking the band to stop playing DM songs or stop playing Wreckage. It’s a great album and these songs sound incredible live. To the moron posting a prayer sign and asking the band to stop playing Wreckage….its not 1991 anymore….free yourself. You absolutely don’t have to love every song but to complain about setlists and songs is selfish and ridiculous. Just be happy that the band is touring and they sound great. Do everyone a favor, stay home and make your own setlist on paper then hum the songs to yourself. I was lucky enough to see 4 shows this tour and they could have played the same setlist every show….be appreciative that our favorite band is still getting after it…33.5 yrs and still rockin. Fucking great band and we will never see anyone like them again.

Missed Won't Tell, Upper Hand, Running trio and hope that returns Tuesday. Blood sounded pretty good to my ears! Happy that the Rearviewmirror set closer is coming back, and seems to be sharing set space with Porch. Heard Glorified G for the first time live at MSG and again here. Not a studio album favorite, but an absolute banger live and so relevant right now. First night opening with Footsteps/Release wasn't much of a surprise, but closing with YLed was. Curious how they'll end on Tuesday.

We had a couple of guys behind us who sat down for songs they didn't know and proceeded to catch up, which... Fine, I guess? I was mostly able to tune them out and enjoy the songs, but it's just weird to me that you spend all that money to ignore the show. I had a blast, regardless. Got to finally hear Glorified G (Rats on Tuesday, please?), and while I'm on board for less RITFW, Stone's solo during it was a amazing!

Happy that the Rearviewmirror set closer is coming back, and seems to be sharing set space with Porch. Heard Glorified G for the first time live at MSG and again here. Not a studio album favorite, but an absolute banger live and so relevant right now. First night opening with Footsteps/Release wasn't much of a surprise, but closing with YLed was. Curious how they'll end on Tuesday.

So. It looked like good crowd energy. Interesting set list. Sitting across the field, I thought the cameras and lighting enhanced the experience.
Our tweet-sized take was: good show, but some of the people around us were awful. A lot of people were really, really drunk well before the band took the stage. And it’s hard to say how the sound was thanks to the two drunk dorks who loudly regaled each other with their wits The. Whole. Time. So, 👋 if you and your bud were in field box 22, shouting and shit-talking for 2.5 hours straight, you might want to tone it down tomorrow night (they told everyone they’ll be back); the very large man sitting next to you spent the show resisting the urge to stomp you both, and I doubt that many people have his patience and forbearance.
We managed to enjoy the show nonetheless. Ballpark shows are a different vibe than arena shows; I’m not a big fan of Fenway — it has a lot of history, but … it needs updating. Anyway: we are looking forward to tomorrow night.
Really dug the setlist, the band, Glen. Better than average banter from Ed. The crowd in Right Field Box 7 didn't seem to know any songs but Even Flow, Alive, Jeremy ... which sort of surprised me as someone who's always been in a pretty happening section at Fenway. Didn't really see anyone around me signing along at all. There sure were a lot of people having full blown conversations though. Social norms have really gone out the window post-COVID. Why not go to a bar if you wanna chat with your buddy for 2 and a half hours? I promise you it's cheaper and you won't lose your voice trying to amplify it over music that's way more interesting than whatever the hell you're saying.
Missed Won't Tell, Upper Hand, Running trio and hope that returns Tuesday. Blood sounded pretty good to my ears! I know for a fact that unless they reduced prices absolute last minute that these dudes were sitting PJ Premium too. So wasteful.
Would not be opposed to Eddie Vedder projecting a spectrogram and giving a brief PowerPoint presentation about how your voice does not travel at the same frequency as the music and can be heard by everyone around you.
Glad I know what this guy thinks about the CyberTruck and the latest season of House of the Dragon.
Footsteps into Release into GTF made me think we were in for something historic .
But very quickly it became a a pretty standard setlist for this tour with casual fan favorites "Jeremy" "Corduroy " "Betterman" and "RVM".
Thank god for the fan request of "Blood" and Mike's full star-Spangled Banner tag onto Yellow Ledbetter ; otherwise there were no surprises .
"Blood" replaced "Never Destination" on the setlist which would have been a horrible choice to play to the Fenway crowd . It seems that Ed loves that song but nobody else does! "Blood" was ferocious!
I personally wished they had played "Undone" for howard zinn because "Down" has been played into the ground here in Boston.
I realize RITFW gives Ed the time to circulate all the tambourines, but it's Needs to be retired. Fucking Up would be a nice replacement .
I predict Fenway 2 will be a much much better Setlist for hard-core fans.
A quick sidenote, Ed's vocals upfront work crystal clear and Mike's guitar was super loud. Which is a good thing. Matt's drums seemed a bit muddled in the sound mix. I'm hoping they get that better night number two.

Completely agree. Thought I was in for another epic Fenway night after the opening but kinda turned run of the mill fast. The placement of Setting Sun had to be the most energy sucking setlist choice I’ve seen. Don’t get me wrong I had fun and my daughter loved it but it certainly wasn’t up to the standard of the last 4 Fenway shows. A couple more deep cuts or new covers would have made a big difference

Seems like arena shows make it harder to get tixx and weed out some of these jerks. I had similar experiences seeing PJ at Fenway with nosebleed seats.

Only low point for me was The Song of Good Hope. Glen Hansard is up there with my favorite openers for this band but my goodness is that song a wet fart. They should ditch the duet portion of the show if it’s going to be the same 1-2 song rotation…Just seems a little odd that something like Falling Slowly or The Song of Good Hope has been played more than awesome Pearl Jam songs like In Hiding or Animal.
