Cheatle tin charge of the Secret Service was grilled yesterday by both parties and have zero confidence in her.  She doubled down on herself though.

I think she should resign and should never have been in the position in the =first place it seems.

BBC has a good article on it.

Yes she should resign or be fired but otherwise it’s time to move past this or I really don’t care!

This actually infuriates me.  Its a kangaroo court.  They aren't doing any real work to review the situation and identify the gaps, they simply want the scapegoat.  It's the very worst type of managing and it's all our congress ever does.

Is it though? I see people constantly bringing up that he told them to drink bleach and that was 4 years ago. Whether you like Trump or hate him, this was an extremely significant event in our history that happened two weeks ago.

I understand it was a giant fumble by the SS no doubt but will we ever get to the whole truth of what happened I don’t think so! And I don’t believe he wants an investigation to get to the bottom of it.

Do we ever get the whole truth about anything? I don’t thinks so. So I definitely agree about that. It’s all a big show and nothing will come out of it.

Speaking of lapses in security: Lapses persist for Capitol Hill panic buttons two years after insurrection

That reminds me, whatever happened to this guy?

    Also:
On July 14, 2022, it was reported that "Members of the U.S. Secret Service erased text messages from January 5th and 6th, 2021, shortly after the Department of Homeland Security inspector general requested them as part of an investigation into the agency's response to the 2021 United States Capitol attack, according to a letter written by the inspector general to congressional leaders.

On July 20, 2022, Gladys Ayala, the Deputy Inspector General (IG) of the Department of Homeland Security notified the Secret Service that her office was investigating the disappearance of text messages and emails regarding the siege of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, characterizing their disappearance as an "ongoing criminal investigation."

I know the buck stops with her but Cheatle wasn't at the event making the decisions that were made. Who was in charge that day? That's the person that needs to get grilled.

So I see this two ways.  They actually asked her "how" this happened and where the breach was and she declined to answer it.  That is one.

The other maybe to not discuss how they internally effed up so people can't follow the playbook for a second attempt.

She is still the person in charge that signs off on the detail.

Correct as I mentioned the buck stops with her. She is guilty of trusting the person in charge that day. Who was that?

I tried googling it and don't come up with anything.  I understand what you are getting at but it still falls on her shoulders.  The person that was in charge that day will most likely be removed from their position also.

It’s bi-partisan that she should resign. Biden should fire her but he is incapable of doing it. The American public has no confidence in her to protect any former or current President.

Social media is brutal to those female agents right now. The one that couldn't holster her weapon, etc.

Aren’t those agents supposed to be the best of the best tho? Barney Fife had better gun handling skills.

That was one of the first things I noticed when this all happened.
I know it’s a high stress situation. But aren’t these supposed to be the best in the country? How are you unable to holster your gun?

Guys, the roof was clearly too sloped. These are secret service agents, not mountaineers.

feels like debating something that happened months ago. the head of secret service needs to go and they need to do a better job.

i feel like this is a waste of time unless we get the exact details of what happened, including medical reports.
