    Well, if you are a normal conservative like Will, that makes sense though. Repubs are likely to win senate and lose the house...which means not a whole lot will happen over the next 4 years, IE: we are NOT going to turn into Venezuela (lol). And in this scenario they can finally rid themselves of Trump and nominate someone slightly more normal in 2028.

    For sure, Parksy.  The fact that million upon millions of people in this country STILL support Trump is hugely concerning, even more so than the fact that a Donald Trump exists.  The idea that so very many people can think that way is disturbing.

    Yep. The fact that he's anything more than a fringe candidate after all these years is alarming. But there's a big chunk of the country that thinks authoritarianism is a good thing, and they don't think they will get swept up when he starts punishing all those people who need to be punished.

    I spent a good portion of my youth studying these things, and that's not how it works. The face-eating leopard *will* eat your face, too, given the opportunity.
