Some of these comments are tripping me out.  Not rock music?  Have you really not heard The Police?  Multiple rock bangers.  If you google "The Police" you will see rock band.  If you look at Sting's recent setlists, it had been 80% Police songs.

I'm sure Sting will know the vibe, and keep it rocking.  Plus mix in maybe one or two of his solo songs, or even some cover songs.  Wish I was going but the wife still wants to go to the Miramar Air show, and 3 concerts in a row she is not a fan of.

Easy to sing along with.  If you know the song title it will be repeated a minimum of 10 times in every song.
After 20 Roxannes he could maybe change up the color of the light.

It was nine Police songs out of 19 at his most recent show and eight out of 19 at the one before that, so not quite 80 percent.

The majority of the set consists of Sting solo material, which is fine. They're great songs. He is a fantastic songwriter and musician.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Yes I see, thanks for clarifying.  I based my 80% Police songs on the Rotterdam setlist in my previous post below.  Now that I look again, that setlist has closer to 70% Police.  So really it's going to be a surprise then.  Agreed that Sting is an amazing musician.

My guess would be over 50% Police songs with some cool cover songs added, as well as a few solo gems.

Why are people against Sting? He has a ton of hits.
I'm not sure why some are not wanting Sting.  It doesn't make sense and The Police have classic songs.  I WOULD invest money in this if Sting did perform.

Sting's recent setlist has some great songs.  Those not wanting Sting, would you not like this setlist at all?

For me, that’s the problem: I’m sure I know enough to know that nothing about Sting has ever remotely interested me.  Except Fields of Gold.  Great song. If he gives that the “Not Like Us” treatment, that’d be great! Lol

    it’s a festival, it’ll be fine.

The Dire Straits song? “I want my MTV” covered by the band that refused to make videos forever? That would be pretty sweet

How is Sting not a true headliner? People here were throwing out names that you wouldn't be able to see their font on some festivals
Most festivals would put “Sting” in bigger letters than “Pearl Jam”.

Oh I know some of the major ones like Message in a bottle and Roxanne…neither of which I’ve ever felt like I’d be missing out if I didn’t hear live. Saturday will be mostly listening to music I’m not too familiar with which is a little tough considering the ticket prices. Maybe I’ll leave being a fan of some of them.  Just wish it was Jack White as the replacement so trying to be positive.

not going to lie...Saturday is a little off now. I'm ok with Sting being the replacement but Turnpike Troubadours are right before him and they are country. Might be a day where we show up late.

Jenny Lewis is fun live but, yeah, if this was the original lineup I would have treated this as a listen from the beach day.
