Hope everyone will be pleased with the replacement. I almost pulled the trigger on a hotel deal in Ohana. Neil is my favourite artist, and PJ my favourite band. Having Neil cancel makes the ´not going´ part more digestible. Travelling from Scandinavia + girlfriend tagging along.. It got pricy...

Anyway, I can recommend Jason Isbell. He played here in November last year, and I have tickets for his return in November this year.
    I will swallow poison

Now I’ve got myself all worked up and think I will be disappointed if it’s not The Cure. Haha.

I know. I just put it out there as a fantasy replacement. I am sure the odds are next to nothing. But fun to think about.

I did the same thing when I got excited about NIN.  The Cure would be my second favorite choice.  Either would be amazing

I’m dreaming but Jack White, Brandi Carlile, Paul McCartney, Band of Horses, Social Distortion, or a PJ acoustic set on Saturday would be great. Lots of other fantastic choices too, but if Neil can’t make it those would be some top choices.
  • Would love to see any of those. Social D would be one of the tops for me.

Love Social D, but they're doing a doubleheader in Cleveland that weekend.

Out of all those, Brandi has the best shot. Macca is a hail mary, but ya never know.

Sir Paul's South American tour starts Oct 1. It would be great to have him, but unlikely.
The extensive travel distances UK>US>Uruguay in just a few days seems prohibitive. It would be great if we could be his warm up show, if he happens to already be nearby for some reason!

Not likely since the band remembers the fact that Axl beat up Stephanie Seymour and Erin Everly.

He has a big gap between dates around Ohana. I saw him a couple of weeks ago, would also recommend. He's not a huge name like most closers, but boy can he sing.

He played at Solid Sound (Wilco's music fest) in late July...I have seen him a number of times (including opening up for Ryan Adams in a small venue after he left the Drive By Trucker's).  He is so f-ing good live...the voice and guitar playing are off the hook and his band is super tight.  He even appeased the crowd members by playing REM "One I Love" for his penultimate song.  If you don't know his work or haven't seen him live, you'll be entertained for sure....

Despite all of my accolades...I would vote for the Cure.  :)

Saw them last year and old Robert Smith looked about as happy as a human could be at the end of the show seeing the response that he and the band were given.  I'd pay to see them again for sure.....

I have a strong suspicion we'll see him at ohana sooner or later.

And Mike has called him his favorite songwriter.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

John Prine showed love, too. That's high praise. (R.I.P.)

This is interesting. Neil Young will be returning to the stage to play Farm Aid on September 21st. Wonder if he could just play solo.
