Really good band...don't know if it quite meets "headliner" status for the weekend though...

Neil played four songs at last year's Farm Aid. I'll be stunned if he plays more than six this year. Headlining Ohana is a different animal.

True, he’d probably have to perform 13-15 songs at Ohana.

I’m surprised we haven’t heard a replacement yet. They’re not going to move many Saturday tickets until they do, and we are only a bit over 2 months away.

He was doing close to 20 songs with his solo tour last summer. He'd have it in him, especially with Ed and others backing him up.

Whether he wants to do it is a separate, legitimate question.

I’m typically very patient, but why is this taking so long? People are trying to determine plans and we are moving in quickly on 2 months out.

It’s only been 3 weeks? I’m sure the framework of the replacement is there, but now road crews have to come together for a possible one-off date and travel. Accommodations for all those people, how much we getting paid, merchandisers scrambling to have shirts shipped. A thousand moving parts. It’s kind of a miracle that festivals like this seem, from the outside, to go off without a hitch with months of preparations.

I agree, but... it has been 4 weeks and another NYCH festival announced their replacement 10 days ago. All your points are valid, and Eddie and Co may be trying hard to get someone in particular.

That was my thought. It might take longer to get "THE replacement" as opposed to "A replacement".

Wow, so he really is playing Toronto Wednesday, hauling all that gear to So Cal for Saturday and then turning around and going back east to Philly on Monday? That’s crazy! Being a festival he won’t have to bring all the lighting gear and they may borrow some other things, but still.

Sting is a great choice! Too bad it's not a one off full on The Police reunion show. That would have been really hype

Ha.  Just not worth the expensive trip.  For me, at least.

The first album I ever bought with my own money was Synchronicity. Now, 41 years later, I'll be seeing Sting live for the first time (not including his appearance with Pearl Jam at MSG). His two most recent studio albums of originals, 57th & 9th and The Bridge, are quite good. I'm very happy about this.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.
