Wishing for a Lost Dogs show in 2025, full album played.  Hope to be at the show, but if not then the bootleg will still be amazing.  That would be a really special event, def not for the casuals   I'm sure the 10C would thoroughly enjoy it :rock_on:
    I'm spinning, oh-oh-oh I'm spinning

ELO announced as first headliner at next year's BST Hyde Park. Lots of rumours flying around about who the others will be, ranging from the Stones to Sam Fender. No noise about PJ as of yet. I'd say it's highly unlikely.

LOL... I've completely given up on that wish.  See a show and get to sleep in my own bed?  I doubt it will ever happen at this stage.

But to be completely honest... Toyota center is a super blah venue, there isn't much that makes the building unique or memorable... same goes for my least favorite venue in the planet... the woodlands pavilion. I can understand why they wouldn't play Houston.

Since there are only two months of warm summer in Montana, that is where we would probably rather be. I do not think that is a dis on Europe.
That was my thought when I read Jeff's quote also.  Having grown up in Canada and having a lot of friends that have to travel for project work all over North America and the globe, that sentiment seems to be universal.  People that grew up in, or currently reside, in areas of the plant that experience extended periods of the year without sunshine and/or a legit winter want to be there in the summer when it's gorgeous to get outside...

Me, I'm the opposite... Houston has taught me to hate the sun.  I never had a love it, but when it looks beautiful outside and you step out the front door and it's 40 degrees C and 100% RH, I hate my fucking life.  Get me back to place with a real winter.

Anyway... back to talking about Toronto! Leafs are off to great start to miss the playoffs! Lots of availability at Scotiabank!

But you have good BBQ and Tacos. And not far from the gulf coast. I love Texas but not sure I could live there. Maybe if the daughter gets in to UT and we need that resident tuition. :)

BBQ and tacos aren't worth the toxic political environment and the unbearable heat 8 months of the year.  Tell your daughter to find another school.  UT is a good system, don't get me wrong, but so are a million others if she is looking out of state.  And the gulf coast in Texas is gross, nothing but muddy water and chemical plants / refineries.  I have no love of Florida, but at least their beaches are beautiful.

I have been trying to get the fuck out of here for 5 years... I just can't get my kids out of this state.  their mom won't agree to leave.

I have the same problem here in New York. I love Austin. Just enough Brooklyn for her to feel at home and many educational choices, I think it might be good for her to see something 360 degrees the other way from New York. I am certainly not sending her to Michigan, Penn State, or Columbus Ohio LOL. Truth be told, she will probably end up at Syracuse or Cornell if she can get in. But Arizona U and UT on are the radar. I just want her to experience something different from New York.

Couldn't do Fenway. Work & stuff.

  • Think I might be done with 10C after my Fenway experience. Got 2 tix through the lottery, and nowhere was it indicated that they were obstructed view. As such, I get to the seats ~20 minutes before showtime and find out the stage is completely blocked. I had no idea about guest services so upgraded on stubhub last minute, hoping 10C would make it right later.

Instead, 10C essentially blames me by saying it could have been easily avoided if I just went to fan services, or emailed 10C from the park so they could work with fan services to help me (lol right).

    1) maybe indicate somewhere that fan services is an option
    2) why the fuck are fan club members getting obstructed view seats?

On top of that, it took over a month to get any real response. Whole thing left a very sour taste in my mouth. Probably going around 10C for 2025.

Empathy from here in Arizona. On top of 100+ today, our school system sucks. And no beaches shitty or otherwise. My wife also refuses to relocate.

No beef. She wants to be near a city and Detroit is not on her list. And not in the midwest or the west coast. Her choice, not mine.

Secondary education in this state at places like UT, TAMU, TT, UH, and Rice is top notch... the public school system however... I live in Houston... if you follow the drama going on here with the state's takeover of the 2nd largest school district in the country and what they have done to it... it's abysmal.  The governor and MM are assholes pushing you to send your kids to private school so that those without kids don't have to pay to put your kids through school... it's fucking bullshit.... I'll stop my rant here.

I can believe it.  Newfoundland (where I grew up) is the most beautiful place on earth July / August / first 2 weeks of september.  Any of time of year there, you can do extended periods of time without seeing the sun... like literally 2-3 week stretches... wanting to be home and enjoy the beautiful weather is not lost on me...

but... back to Toronto! Let's all go to Toronto in April! Going to be fun without a leafs playoff run! ;)

Exactly. Native Texan here. I foresaw what was coming with the political BS in 2012 and hightailed it to Boston and never looked back. I’m a seasoned vet in the food biz so I bought myself a smoker and taught myself how to make great BBQ. Already knew how to make amazing tacos. Hell I parlayed it into a catering biz. I would never recommend moving to Texas. It’s not worth the heat or headaches.

Just saw Jeff Lynne's ELO at the Toyota Center in Houston tonight... all i could think about before the show was PJ should play here

We are just spitballing at this point. I think she wants to try something outside of our NY suburban bubble. Funny, I did the same with a smoker and tacos, better to make it at home. Is Austin really Texas?  LOL. I might just be looking for an excuse to make a UT school visit during football season, ACL, or maybe the Grand Prix ;). I do not see us living there.

    What's your beef with Michigan?

No beef. She wants to be near a city and Detroit is not on her list. And not in the midwest or the west coast. Her choice, not mine.
Got it!  Fair enough.  Although Ann Arbor is pretty great, but understand as my daughter has been going through the application process and having to make those same decisions.

I am starting to think this is a distinct possibility.

Most bands would have done a SA or Canadian tour or done a larger Euro tour or come back for the cancelled Euro dates. PJ aren’t like that though as can be seen from recent touring patterns. My instinct is that Ed and Mike would be there like a shot but other band members don’t feel the same way. It is what it is. If we all have to wait another year then so be it.

Given the fact they've just done their biggest tour (in terms of continents covered in a single year) in decades I'd say the chances are that 2025 will be a fallow year.

Yep. I think rumours had started by now last year. Think it was around Ohana when we heard it would be at least two US and one Euro leg and early November when the cities started to be unveiled.

if there’s nothing next year my guess would be Europe and US in 2026.

That's right, Dark Matter World Tour 2024 is their longest tour since the Avocado 2006 Tour, which was 18 years ago.

Sorry for the radio silence, but was reaching out to a few peeps to see if they heard anything similar.

Spoke to someone at Ohana who works very closely with Ed, Jeff & Stone in particular:

DM has legs. CBS Sunday Morning drove up PJ site traffic & overall band interest. All the singles have gotten decent airplay, but there's a lot of buzz around WFS. If it does well, we might see more dates. BUT, in the mean time...

a short run in the first half of the year, and a equally short "stint in one place" later in the year.

He didn't confirm SA, but he DID confirm North America. He also didn't elaborate if the residence was Sphere, or Seattle. But he did say "just a handful".

Lastly, the band has an open invite to play Ohana again (every year), but it's up in the air. Everyone was very visibly having a great time (Dancing Stone!)

If not, it'll certainly be Ed (The Last Of Us S2 trailer w/Future Days also put band/Ed interest through the roof over the weekend🤘).

I hope there's more, but I trust at least this much from the source (because when I was walking away, I saw the name he was texting with on his phone. It said "Ed.")
so you guys already forgot about this tidbit of info just a few weeks ago?

To me this says a 3 week run in the Spring through the southeast and possibly midwest which will feature a few festivals

Followed by a few weeks at the Sphere whenever "later" is

No South America, no Europe.  Those likely to come in 2026.  I think we are entirely too late at this point for any sort of March or April run in South America.

Remind me how many months between the tour announcement and the first leg of the tour started?
