New Green Day album was terrible imho. Also get second hand embarrassment looking at them. You can still maintain the punk aesthetic while acknowledging you're no longer in your late tweens or early twenties--just look at the other Bay Area bands. Ticket prices seem good though.
New Green Day album is great. Much better than Dark Matter.

I shouldn’t have made my comment sound so negative, but the new Green Day album is to me their best since American Idiot. Definitely my most played record in the last year. Dark Matter on the other hand is the weakest album PJ have put out. But I think I’m probably the only PJ fan alive who thinks that.

Im with you that saviours is the best green day album since american idiot but not on dark matter sorry lol😅
  • Saviors and dark matter are two of my favourite albums of the year. I also paid about half the price for my Manchester green day ticket compared to my Manchester pearl jam one.
The green day tour this year was fabulous

 That would be so amazing.  And they could include a re-press of the first shows with the release.  This is a dream idea

Bro!!! Hou drop this 24 hours ago, have been on here as recent as an hour ago and have yet to elaborate???? Let's f'n @Go Animal
    +1
Sorry for the radio silence, but was reaching out to a few peeps to see if they heard anything similar.

Spoke to someone at Ohana who works very closely with Ed, Jeff & Stone in particular:

DM has legs. CBS Sunday Morning drove up PJ site traffic & overall band interest. All the singles have gotten decent airplay, but there's a lot of buzz around WFS. If it does well, we might see more dates. BUT, in the mean time...

a short run in the first half of the year, and a equally short "stint in one place" later in the year.

He didn't confirm SA, but he DID confirm North America. He also didn't elaborate if the residence was Sphere, or Seattle. But he did say "just a handful".

Lastly, the band has an open invite to play Ohana again (every year), but it's up in the air. Everyone was very visibly having a great time (Dancing Stone!)

If not, it'll certainly be Ed (The Last Of Us S2 trailer w/Future Days also put band/Ed interest through the roof over the weekend🤘).

I hope there's more, but I trust at least this much from the source (because when I was walking away, I saw the name he was texting with on his phone. It said "Ed.")
so you guys already forgot about this tidbit of info just a few weeks ago?

Little bird told me something special in May in Seattle ... I guess we'll see ...
Wasn't there talk of a PJ residency at one Seattle venue way back when?

Pretty rare to Seattle shows in back to back years.. last time was the Gorge shows (yes I count that as Seattle :) ).
Would also love some Gorge shows :rock_on:

I'm also down for a residency, as I think those are shows where we might get full albums played.  Any album show would be great, and I'm most excited for Riot Act and Lost Dogs shows.

It's interesting to see the different opinions on Dark Matter.  I've not seen an album which has elicited the wide range between best and worst album.  Personally, it is a good album, but I don't have it ranked better than anything Avocado and before.  The only album that I like it better than with certainty is Lightning Bolt.

I think Backspacer is the album where I notice a wide range of likes/dislikes.  The majority of fans seem to have Dark Matter in the "love this album front to back" tier.  I think it's rare to see a PJ fan, who has listened to the album all the way through at least 5 times or more (HD quality), to not rank this album alongside the very best

This thread somehow got derailed from.the 2025 tour rumor/wishcast/excitement.  Plenty of other threads to discuss Dark Matter.

Back to excitement.   Seattle in May.  Yes please.   PJ35, Benaroya Hall, or any Pearl Jam show.  Sign me up!

The Gorge, Philly, Hyde Park.  Yes please

You know, I saw a few country artists (and Billy Strings...) raised almost $25 million dollars for the people of North Carolina who are STILL struggling with the aftermath of this hurricane.

It's never too late for PJ to rectify their relationship with North Carolina after the bathroom fiasco of 2016. If only PJ had known then what they know now in regards to how the next 9 years of politics would play out....

Or gather up a few big names and play a smaller set at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa... They have the opportunity to do something BOTH administrations seem to not want to do: help the citizens who are already living in this Country!!!!!!

    Any rumors of Detroit?

    Detroit in 2025?

I wouldn't give it a resounding yes, but I'm hearing things that could give optimism. North of 40% but south of 80%.

Keep in mind things could always change.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have 2-3 plans for any given month/leg, especially for the USA and that NHL/NBA playoff situations are a huge variable. (Toronto fucked them over, but whatchu gonna do?)

In 2010, the rumor was they had 2-3 different cities for May 6th. When the Columbus Bluejackets failed to make the playoffs, that opened up the date in Columbus. State College was apparently also scheduled that same day, as was some city in Texas. (That would have been interesting because May 7th was Noblesville and May 9th was Cleveland.)

If that rumor is true, maybe the Columbus date meant a show in Noblesville between 2003-2024 and a Cleveland date between 2006-current.

Definitely. IMO... official announcement in late Feb?

It's just a random guess, but I'm thinking the rest of the year will be quiet. They'll do the NZ/AUS shows, do a year-end wrapup with "exciting news to come" and then that'll be 2024.

Yeah, I think whoever it was on this thread that said they don't like Dark Matter is the second person I've heard of that didn't like it.  There is no question it is in the upper echelon of Pearl Jam records.
