As far as the Sphere goes - no rumors, just information to digest:
1) Ed visited the sphere twice during the U2 residency.
2) At LV1, Ed polled the audience as to how many travelled to the show, and how many were locals. After the crowd responded, he looked toward somebody in the wings off to the side of the stage and said something to the effect of ’See, about 50-50. About half travelled for the show.’ Then he confirmed the band heard him by looking around the stage.
3) Later in the evening of LV1, Ed made a quick comment about being back next year.
4) The big screen behind the stage sure was Sphere-esque, the way they used it.
Pay attention to this guy.
5) Those first few chords of U2's "Bad" before Corduroy seemed like a very subtle signal (I wish we got the whole thing, lol)
But yeah, this feels VERY probable to me. Both DM & Gigaton have videos ready to go, and they've been doing various things for other songs with the screen & lighting that feel almost like tests.
Wishlist is usually a breather for me, but N1 was one of the best (if not the best) I've seen. They had a whole mirrorball (another Uncle Neil clue??) effect that made it extra nice.
Far as I'm concerned, all we need is a timeframe.
p.s. (Hey, Facemeltor!🤘)
On night two on the overhead projecter he wrote "uno dos tres catorce"? I assumed a nod to U2.

Would go back to the Sphere in a heartbeat. It was beyond amazing for U2!
Same!
I went to the Dead & Co show on Friday night between PJ shows. I'm not even really a Dead fan, just wanted to check it out. Consider my socks officially blown off. I don't know if PJ needs to play the Sphere, but if they do, I will 100% be there.
I’m sure Sphere is in the cards at some point before too long but man I hope “Sphere residency” isn’t the whole ‘25 agenda considering that there are a whole lot of places they’re skipping this year and Vegas ain’t one of them

Jeff has also said that he saw U2 at the Sphere. Only one who has openly said he was against it was Stone. But if the price is right, I'm sure even he will cave.
With this new format, and hoping they hit a weird place or two my guess is…
March 2025: Columbia x2, Santiago x2, Buenos Aires x2, Brazil x3, Mexico City x2 (Would like to see Lima and/or Costa Rica if no Columbia)
September 2025: Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh, DC x2, Raleigh, Atlanta x2, Miami x2 (Realistically I could see them doing 2 nights in Ohio and think it’ll be enough for the Midwest, which it won’t be. Two nights in DC would get the northeast and VA traveling. New Orleans is due too.)
May 2026: Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Toronto x2, Montreal, Halifax, St. John’s
July 2026: Amsterdam x2, Oslo, Helsinki, Prague, Vienna, Zagreb, Milan x2, Marseille, Madrid
September 2026: Maine, TD Garden x2, MSG x2, Philly x2, Chicago x2, Kansas City, Denver, Gorge x2 (PJ 35)

Nah they’d rather not maximize their revenue
Incredible Ed needed to ask audience who traveled to show, talk about a self fulfilling prophecy. They’ve played a limited tour schedule for a decade, play the same places over and over, only have heard of four east coast cities, their most popular region, and now think since fans since traveled to a festival, maybe it justifies expecting everyone to get on a plane into the desert, truck in food and supplies, burn tons of carbon, if they want to see a show.
Developing video for the sphere is extremely expensive and specialized and to do it right like D&C did, and it requires a lot of shows to cover the overhead (phish was not cost effective, and DC videos were significantly better than phish and u2).
It’s one thing if they toured alot over the years like phish and DC, but they’ve repeatedly skipped so many places, and have created a ticketing nightmare for their largest throng of their fans. Do they like posting tickets for only $400 - $2000?
Most seats at sphere are on a very steep slope and are a mile from the stage , which is tiny for most fans. Cool video yes, but is that what a concert is about? Why do they even need the band to show up at the sphere if it’s about futuristic video? It’s more like going to the planetarium or riding Epcot Soarin than a rock concert.

All fair points. But this band tours only enough to keep the lights on (2022 and 2024 being exceptions to promote albums) so I think the idea of doing all of the year's shows in limited time frame at one spot vs traveling all over would be appealing to them. And yes the videos will cost money but so does shipping their stage/gear/crew and they would be doing that only once as part of a residency model. Either way, I'll be happy to be able to see them wherever they might choose to play!

Make it during the summer when school is out and my teacher wife doesn't have to take time off and we would try to make it. It will be hot as heck during that time of the year, but we would entertain it.
After seeing U2 at the Sphere and PJ in Vegas a few weeks ago I think it's gonna happen. The visuals are certainly important but to me the big draw is the sound - which is just incredible. It's more like a theatre sound experience than an arena. We sat in the 400 level for U2 and I'd sit there again with no problem. While its definitely steep I did not feel like I was that far from the band and felt much closer than being across from the stage in a basketball arena - but that is likely a matter of personal taste. I live in Vegas so I am clearly biased but I'd love to see it. And the boots from a run at the Sphere would be amazing.

Yes, for this reason(Incredible sound) should be good enough for them to play at The Sphere?
Like others, I went to Dead & Co just to check the Sphere out and It's a awesome place to hear/see a concert.

On the one hand Sphere seems very possible if not straight up likely. On the other hand he says that in a lot of cities. I’m sure one could scour the boots and find him saying “see ya next time” or “we’ll be back soon” in several of the cities they haven’t been back to in a decade.

Like others, I went to Dead & Co just to check the Sphere out and It's a awesome place to hear/see a concert.

On the other hand he says that in a lot of cities. I’m sure one could scour the boots and find him saying “see ya next time” or “we’ll be back soon” in several of the cities they haven’t been back to in a decade.
