Imagine if they did a Sphere show/run for members only, with accommodations and whatnot. That would be epic.

    Oct 22, 2025. 35th anniversary show.

A stint at the Sphere would be something new and somewhat outside the box. I see it as the opposite of phoning it in.
Yeah, not that booking an arena tour is easy but I imagine it's a lot of work to get a Sphere residency planned
I think a Vegas residency would be the ultimate kick in the nuts for the people who thought this band had some credibility before charging €180 for the Euro shows that, are not selling very well.
This suggests that you do not think that the band has credibility. Is that what you think?
I think it has been severely tested by charging €180 during a severe cost of living crisis in Europe.
So why do you pay them to belong to their fan club?
I paid for the fan club before the Euro tickets went on sale. I buy things off the site that you have to be a member of to buy- bit of a con, I know but oh well- gotta keep these rich “rockers” rich! Are there other bands that charge you a ‘fan club’ fee to buy merch off them? Yeah, actually, now that you mention it, I will probably drop out of the fan club.

A lot of people in the fan club are wondering why they are still in it when they get worse seats than people who are not in it- what’s with that!

“Keep on rockin in the free world” but charge €180 for that privilege- come on!
So is it your position that the band should give you merchandise for free because they're rich? Do you think the band has any responsibility to the dozens of people working for the organization who are not necessarily rich but who rely on the band for their livelihoods? (These people include Boom and Josh in addition to the crew, the management and the warehouse and Ten Club staff.) Should the band work for free and pay their employees out of their personal fortunes? Are you aware that many of the band's employees have profit-sharing arrangements, which is not something offered by most employers, but also not particularly remunerative unless there are profits to be distributed?

If 180 euros is not a fair price, what is a fair price? What do you think Pearl Jam's profit margin is for these shows? How much of a margin would you consider fair? (The "free" in "free world" isn't referring to the price of goods, incidentally.)
Now listen, seriously, I never said the band should give me merchandise for free!!!!
what I meant was, I can buy the full range of merchandise off other bands sites without joining their fan club but if I want to buy a tour poster off Pearl Jam, I have to be a member of their club.

I’m going to skip over your middle section about the poor staff that work for the band!! Are you for real??

By the way - €100 is fair for gold circle, €80 for regular- about what they are going for on Ticketmaster resale now.
Yes, I am for real. I think that the people who work for the band deserve to be paid, and paid well. Do you disagree?

I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Ok.  So, we can agree that Europe is out for 2025.
South America and Sphere set of shows would be the most likely?
Maybe some Wrigley, Fenway and T-Mobile.
    Maybe some festivals?
Does the Southeast finally get some love?

I never got why folks think PJ can’t play the Sphere as if they can’t get a visual representation of their songs done in that setting! The Sphere is the best venue for music I can’t think of another venue I’d pay to see them play!

Yeah I would probably be in too for the Sphere. Though I would totally be down for a New England Pearl Jam Road Trip in 2025.

How about the Croix-Bieue in Moncton where Mickey Mouse and the rest of GnR played? Be a sweet show, the Maritimes are LONG overdue

PJ should play a Euro-stint of only festivals next summer...I could agree to that only if they play Rockfest in my hometown in Finland 😉

Id love to see PJ come across to Europe outside the summer months for a proper arena tour.....I know its massively unlikely to happen again but I just think it would be amazing. Festivals bring in a great pay day though and make the tours feasible it seems

Yes, it would be fun if they mixed it up a bit with the Euro tours.

Indeed! We haven't been yet to Croix-Bieue. Pearl Jam should totally play there.

Yeah, I do think they are at the end of their touring careers. Do you like to argue just for the sake of arguing?

  • I might agree that they're winding down soon, but Andrew Watt's presence seems to have reinvigorated the band to some degree. As a result, I'm thinking they'll make two more studio albums in addition to Lost Dogs II prior to hanging it up for good in about 2038.

$250-300 for a Sphere ticket would be an easy pass for me. Vegas is of zero interest to me, PJ or not.  I think the current tix at $175 are a little pricey as well. But that's where we're at.  I limited myself to two shows this year and may even sell one off as the date gets closer.

But I'll keep my membership because in the long run, it's the only way you can potentially guarantee yourself a ticket. I don't have it in me to search all day on TM for drops and available tickets. And I'm certainly not spending the markup on other non TM sites.

I had 8-10 friends who were excited to go to the Fenway shows in September. Only three of us got tickets (only 3 in the fanclub). The other guys didn't get chosen for the verified fan and have basically given up. They'll check again come late August/early Sept and I'm hopeful for them that there will be face value tickets available.

There were efforts years ago to get PJ at Magnetic Hill, along w/ some other big names, Foo, Coldplay, never materialized after the death of the lead visionary of the site and seems like the site pretty much died off. It was a terrible setup that could have had potential to be a premier amphitheatre environment had the work been put in. Almost think that Mag Hill is done, esp w/ the success Dieppe has had with country concerts and the other options in the region now available. Would love to see a true east coast show, Ed's talked about Halifax being a favorite memory a few times, but the arena there is even too small. Outdoors in atlantic canada is unpredictable. I've come to peace w/ a drive to Que/ON for a 'home' show.

Think for the Sphere to work, it has to be a two show/two night ticket. Make it a true experience.

I dont think they would ever "quit" the band.  I think they will continue to play, as wanted, and as needed.  I am thinking they will continue to operate as a group until one of the group is no longer around anymore.  I think they would just accommodate any members.   They only want to do 10 shows?  Fine, we do 10 shows.  We only want to do an EP or something acoustic? fine, we do that.  Maybe they retire some songs due to difficulty to sing or play (Blood, Leash, STBC, etc).

But I think they will continue to be Pearl Jam and continue to do some stuff as Pearl Jam until one of them no longer can or isnt around.

They've been fairly easy to get very close to the show for the first leg, hang tight.

Ed didn't seem to have much trouble with STBC this go round, I was surprised to hear it twice in 3 shows I made it to. JimFletcherPearlJam said:

Ed more than the others, I feel like. I have to think the addition of Josh (and Andrew with the Earthlings) are an attempt to infuse new energy into the band, in part so eg Stone or Mike can take a night or two off.

I just mean, in 10 years from now, or whatever, they might end up hanging up some of the songs.  Either due to playability, or difficulty, or just being tired of playing them for an entire career.

I know multiple guys have had multiple injuries recently, so there is always that to consider.

I just hope we get get a few more albums and a few more tours to look forward to.  I'm certainly not ready to hang anything up yet!  :)

It certainly possible.  That said, if one of the main 5 were to "quit" for whatever reason (or if time caught up with them), I would be surprised if they did anything as Pearl Jam after that.  Maybe some tribute concerts, etc. Not sure.
