but if they ONLY do the Sphere next year, then no, absolutely don’t want them to.If the sphere were a zero sum game, it would be a phenomenal thing to play there despite the weaknesses of the venue. The sound and video look amazing, however, Half of the 100s are obstructed view, the 200s feel like an upper level seat in an arena, and the 300s and 400s feel like an upper level at a stadium show. fans on the floor are going to look straight up over their heads at the video, that seems awkward, especially for an aging fanbase. Most of the fans are so far away, do we even need the band there, we can just watch the amazing video and replay a superior show sound or the studio version? They built their live reputation by being so close to as many fans as possible “in the round”, and now they discard it like it’s nothing.
as far as it not being a zero sum game, for a forum populated by PLEASE PLAY (insert your town name here) every single show at sphere is one less they will not be playing in your home town, unless you are lucky enough to be in Cali. For those of us in the most populated portion of their fanbase, they’ve only heard of four cities within 800 miles, and tickets are always impossible with a cost upwards of a grand. Every show outside of the east for the remainder of their career, is a ton of money being left unearned. And now they’ll spend a ton of money to do a true video like d and c, or just basic video so they can tick it off their bucket list?

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage, and Foo Fighters headlined it back in the day. It would be awfully nice if PJ did it this year since it is just a few days after the last Boston show.

Let's be real though. With the current mindset of the band, they know they're gonna get a lot of DC fans at the Baltimore show.
Using that logic, does Indianapolis count for Ohio? Ugh.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -

Indeed. Hopefully they will offer up 10Club hotel special rates especially for those who wanna come down for the whole week or two.To quote the 10C from Newsletter #8: "Please understand we have a lot of members and it is very hard to please everybody. If you are one of those unhappy people...please call 1-900-IDN-TCAR."

If they do 5 or 10 show Sphere, will they put a limit on number of nights one member can win through lottery?0

Ride the wave where it takes us.This place is very different from the majority of the fanbase. Here, fans willingly hop on a plane and follow them anywhere. No big deal. Most concert fans do not do that. Every show in LV is one fewer that will be played everywhere else, especially for a band that regularly misses most cities, and likely has at least two members counting down how many live shows they need to play before retirement.
D and C played terrapin last night, a terrific Jerry song. (Watching on you tube) The video was so incredible not only do d and c regularly pull off concerts without Jerry, at the Sphere, they don’t even need the band there. They are so small, even on this video from the 100s (good seats). It’s just such a bizarre and strange and amazing culmination for technology and concerts, and especially these save the planet bands transforming a 100 man crew burning jet fuel on the road to requiring 18,000 per night burning that jet fuel to see them.0 -

And Pearl Jam's crew travels by bus on the road.I gather speed from you fucking with me.0 -
I strongly suspect there weren't many U.S. shows planned for next year anyway. The Sphere would likely be a bonus, not something that prevented them from playing elsewhere.___________________________________________
