The fans taking shrooms gazing at the wild laser show and huge screens.
seriously, it’s a much different dynamic than their 360 degree immersive experience with the fans.
Agreed. I'm kind of disappointed about this decision. I would even go as far as saying I'm bummed out over it. I just can't fathom why the band thought this was a cool direction to go in.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
My L.A. tickets are side stage, really close to Mike. Hopefully they are not obstructed by any new possible production fixtures.
I had tickets like this for N1 in Vancouver. About 8 rows up, side stage Mike. The backdrop bothered me more than I expected. It was great when it was used to project the band's shadows, but for most of the set the screen kept shouting for my attention when I was trying to lock in to whatever the actual band was doing in front of me.
If the screen wasn't 90 degrees to my left, and if it was in focus (presumably a first-night-of-the-tour problem), then it would have been less distracting. I also noticed Mike was more stationary than average when there were closeups of his fretboard, so I think there's a few show moments where he's on a leash because of it.
Folks in most parts of the arena seemed to like it, so I felt like a minority for speaking up on. So either I'm weird or it was the seat location
On the plus side, you'll also get a great view of Josh from your seat, and it turns out he's a fascinating dude to watch in his very unique way.
I saw U2 at MSG from behind the stage. You couldn't see the band until the last song. So basically staring at the screen.
It probably depends where you are. I was behind the stage on the second level for the show where Bruce was in the house. I remember being able to see everyone's back sides throughout the show.
