If you're counting wrestlers, Matt Hardy loves Pearl Jam. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=152686889

Matt and Jeff Hardy talk about Pearl Jam often in interviews. I've seen pictures of Joey Mercury/Matthews wearing Pearl Jam shirts. Shannon Moore also.

John McEnroe was at the Santa Barbara Bowl in 2006 in the VIP section with Laird Hamilton.
    Almost have to include him.

Damian Miller the Brewers backup catcher is a big PJ fan. They play WWS when he comes up to bat at Miller Park.

Why does the number next to the "L" in the Brewers record keep getting bigger, whilst the number near the "W" stays the same?

Ryan Doumit, RF for the Pittsburgh Pirates is a huge Pearl Jam fan:

Lachimia: "Just so we're not talking baseball all the time, I understand you're a huge Pearl Jam fan and you have a baseball autographed by the band's lead singer, Eddie Vedder."

Doumit: "Being from the Seattle area, I grew up listening to them. I've been to numerous concerts of theirs. I own numerous Pearl Jam T-shirts. So yeah, they're my band. I've liked them since I was about 9 years old."

Lachimia: "Is that about how old you were when the whole Seattle grunge thing was going on?"

Doumit: "Yeah, absolutely. Nirvana was also up there. Stone Temple Pilots. Modest Mouse. Those were the main bands I listened to."

Lachimia: "Is that still the kind of music you like?"

    Doumit: "Absolutely. I'll never sway."

Lachimia: "Do you have some Pearl Jam in the car right now?"

Doumit: "Oh yeah. And my iPod is stacked with Nirvana and Pearl Jam."

This makes me a little bit happier that i picked him up a few weeks ago for my fantasy baseball league.

  • There is a small chance that Gabrielle Reece is a fan. I only say this because she's married to Laird Hamilton and we all know he's a fan, so perhaps by default, she is also a fan.

I know I've turned non-fans (perhaps indifferent-fans is a better term) into fans simply by being around them. The Pearl Jam "buzz" is infectious so there's actually a good chance she's caught on!

Chris Chelios - Detroit Red Wings

When I saw the Red Wings play in Vancouver, Chelios was singing along with the PA which was playing Even Flow during the pre game warmups.

u dont think Even Flow is just a really popular song that maybe Chelios knew the words to?

Don't know if you all remember, but there was a Nike commercial a few years ago with Agassi and Sampras contrasting how different they are. When they were asked about music, Sampras said Pearl Jam and Agassi said Santana. Also, during Pete's retirement announcement during the US Open, he did his final stroll with 'Alive' playing in the background.

Have you guys heard Sampras will 'unretire' to play some exhibition matches against Federer. There was also grumblings he might play at Wimbledon.

To add, I think Brian Giles is a PJ fan. When he was with the Tribe, he would be introduced to Pearl Jam songs.

    Just for further confirmation:

In an interview Sean Casey said watching Eddie peform in the clubhouse was the second greatest thing to ever happen to him (his daughter's birth being the first)

Chris Chelios was sidestage at the Chicago show.

Pete Sampras also said he's played tennis w/ Stone before but he was a fan before he became friends with him.

yes really, i've read it somewhere before. doumit used to come to the plate to pj, not anymore though, i can't remember what he changed to. he was also asked what the one item would be he's take out of his house if it was on fire, and that baseball was the answer.
