i can actually back the peter gammons one up - he wrote an article and in between each stanza there was a line from the song wishlist

He does a hour on a sports talk show with Boog Sciambi (espn hoops and baseball). A majority of the intros/outros are pJ.

They discussed the last album and the concert that they attended

There is also a Marlins player that has evenflow during his at bat

There was an interview (Sports Illustrated, I believe) with Sampras back in his playing days. At the end it listed, some general info about him like favorite movie, favorite food, favorite band, etc. He listed Pearl Jam as his favorite band.
    Also...

Sampras in Connecticut: At one point before he served, the quiet Sampras drew laughter from the crowd when a Pearl Jam song was briefly played on the PA system. He stopped his toss and said to the soundman, "That’s the best thing you played all night."

hey, you never said what level, i've competed on my uni mountain bike team for 5 years (4 years undergrad, 1 year masters), and if i do say so, i did pretty damn good last year, i also compete in a variety of provincial and national events. i've been waiting for a p.j. jersey for awhile, i'd wear it proudly, i'd suggest a blue one with an avo, or a stickman.

put me on your list (whatever it's for) :)

I was just gonna say (you beat me to it...) Big Richie - who got to go to Eddie's 40th bday bash. Or so I'm told.

And also Ben Broussard (of the Mariners) lists PJ as a big influence. (Ben's a musician too, in case that didn't make any sense)

I think PJ should do a Johnny Cash-style song that includes the names of all their well-known pro-sports playing fans.

I can just imagine Ed, in that deep Johnny voice...

    "We're played everywhere, man...

(cuz he's got good taste -- and he's cute... ;)

That's awesome! I'm a HUGE Linden fan and I never knew that about him!

My contribution to the list.... My favourite baseball player, Shawn Green of the New York Mets, has often mentioned PJ as his favourite band.

chris mason of the nashville predators. david wright of the mets was at the meadowlands first show and seemed disappointed when i told him what a great show the saturdayt show was at the meadowlands. I think they had to play a doubleheader that day and he couldn't go. I remember hearing "go" on one of those nba slam dunk videos that pop up from time to time on nba-tv..

Speaking of all the baseball games playing PJ for the batters, who else has been digging all the Widespread Panic being played on the intro/outro commercial breaks for games on Fox? I'm really surprised that more PJ fans don't dig these guys.
