Any idea what region the disc is? Whether it’s universal or US only? I’ve not bought it at the moment as I do not know whether it will play on a European Blu ray player
That's sad to here the upres isn't great :( I'm assuming it's not letterboxed and at least takes up the whole TV. I seem to remember the DVD being letterboxed, which means when you play it on modern widescreen TV's you have bars on the bottom and top.
I use a ShieldTV to stream content and play videos on my TV, and it's really good at upres'ing things. It'll be interesting to see if the official bluray stacks up against it upresing the DVD
I'm going to to run it through Topaz this weekend and see if I can clean it up any. I might have to revert to DVD for better results at this point. I don't remember if the DVD has chapter markers, but I'd also like to create those since they decided that those were not necessary.

It took up the whole screen on my TV.

I just got the disc, what a garbage upscale. They didn't even bother to deinterlace it properly. Topaz wont fix this mess any more than it will fix the DVD. I am going to professionally upscale and grade it and I will report back.
Any chance that someone who is good with photoshop could create a standard blu-ray case size insert so people could print it out and use?
I hope one is created too.
I'm working on one by scanning and adapting the DVD art. Going to print one off at work tomorrow to make sure the dimensions are all good.

Got mine. Won't get a chance to watch it until the weekend. Not thrilled with the case (I understand paper and less waste) but it's not exactly going to fit on the shelf with other dvds and blu-rays nicely. I'll probably put it in my old dvd case.

Should have come with a warning sticker. Why grant the funds to shoot on 16mm in the first place, if you gonna skimp out on taking advantage of the format. Atleast they shot the Riot Act videos on 35mm and those look gre.... oh... no wait...

Well, this thread pretty much summed up all my thoughts after getting it and watching it yesterday. It's nice that it filled the screen, but what's filling the screen doesn't look very good. Sounds good, still, though.
And the packaging was a bummer, too. I just threw it in the DVD case- its fits fine.
I generally don't like when people say some job someone did is "lazy" cause I don't know all that went in and how much time was spent and what hurdles there may have been... but this 'feels' low effort.

That looks really good. Any chance you can share the file so others can print it out? I would greatly appreciate it.
Here you go! It's set up to fit on a 8.5x11 sheet. Just make sure you don't select "shrink to fit to page" when you print or it will end up too small.

Finally grabbed mine out of the mailbox today. The packaging is a fucking joke. Absolutely zero effort put into this. Pretty disappointing.
How was it packaged?
I thikn the person might of been referring to the actual artwork/package? It's barely fits the disc, and it barebones cardboard, which means it doesn't fit on the bluray shelf. Mine arrived today. The packaging seemed fine. A stiff little mailer that cd's often arrive in.
I read through the thread and even after that I was still disappointed when I checked mine out this morning.
As noted, they upscaled the DVD video, which was already a not-great transfer. So things that were red flags 25 years ago (like red chroma blocking and dot crawl) are now upscaled! These are direct screenshots from the blu-ray
Also worth noting the DVD had Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and this Blu-Ray only has PCM Stereo. I don't remember if it the 5.1 mix on the DVD was any good, so the stereo is probably the better track. But (1) the DVD had 5.1 audio and (2) the blu-ray packaging and disc have the Dolby Digital logo, but there's no Dolby Digital here. Dolby Labs could probably fine them for misusing the mark.

No idea yet. Hopefully soon we will know.
