It's been all arenas and ball parks for me since 2008.  I'm hoping they do more sheds next year. Nothing like being on the lawn with 20+ of your friends rocking out.  We used to have like 5-6 car loads going to Greatwoods in 98, 00, and 03.  Miss those days.
Kinda almost feels like Mansfield ruined a good thing with the crazy security taking everyone's booze in 2008. That was the end of that tour and PJ really hasn't played too many sheds since.
    Was that N1 or N2?

I think I went to N1 (saturday night IIRC) but don't recall hearing about this.
Night 1 was security like I have never seen there before or since. IIRC, Mansfield passed an ordinance against open containers which directly targeted Great Woods. The Sully and Murph security gang were confiscating everything. It was a mess.
Oh, out in the lot... I do recall that now. I despise that venue... I'm always trying to get in as late as possible and out as early as possible.

In fact, I think that was the last time I was there. Almost went to Radiohead there in 2012, but couldn't for work reasons. Haven't been since and I don't miss it.

I posted this on another thread but I’m hoping someone can explain it to me. Never got a verified code for Austin, just the waitlist. It’s been over 4 hours now since the sale started. Does anyone know if I’m going to get a code eventually? It doesn’t show sold out so doesn’t it stand to reason I should be given access to what’s left at some point? I’m sure there’s not many great seats left but I’m just trying to get into the building
I would guess only premiums are remaining and thats why it isnt sold out
Thanks, yeah I kinda figured that. I guess it’s on to F2F then.

Radiohead 2012 was awesome there. Somehow made it back to Cambridge before 1AM that night so we called that one a win.

Waitlist usally means you're not ever getting a code, based on history.  I'm surprised of the number of MSP folks who got codes after Waitlist.  I've been on Waitlists and never got codes and FAN VERIFY tickets were still available day of show  :s

Makes no sense. I get all the other bs Ticketmaster pulls even if I don’t like it. It’s just crazy to me that people may be willing to give them money for tickets just sitting there but are just going to stay locked out

It doesn't make any sense that Premiums/Platinums also require FAN VERIFY, I've never seen that

It doesn't make sense when they drop literally 100s of great tickets a couple hours before lots of big stadiums shows start, like a million dollars worth, very few sell

I'm starting to wonder if Ticketmaster is seeking revenge on the band for taking them on back in the 90s. A classic bait and switch sabotage. Planned screwup allocating tickets to 10C members. Create a huge demand amongst those not in the club as they stir up doubt and confusion. 10 Club members resort to going on VF for better ticket opportunities. Then premium tickets sold for much more and higher fees are allocated. The dust settles and the scraps are flung out to the rabid desperate 10 club members, beaten down and trodden upon while Pearl Jam's most loyal fanbase abandons the 10 club, which means future sales for Ticketmaster. They win. Game over.
I think you are on to something!

I think if you believe TM needs to artificially increase demand for Pearl Jam, you’ve fallen too far down the conspiracy hole.  This is how ticketing is now in 2023 unfortunately.

The single face value price creates a weird dynamic. The good seats are an incredible deal relative to other arena shows. That pricing in the balcony, though, makes them the most expensive against Madonna, Peter Gabriel, Depeche Mode, or Duran Duran by $10-50.

Maybe I’m naive; or old; or both. But it’s so hard for me to make sense of this band being ok with things like ‘premium seating.’ It just seems to contrary to what they have expressed being about all these years.
Feels like its just a necessary evil at this point. It subsidizes the other pricing. Its a reality of almost every band these days. Never forget that TM is a monopoly. They absolutely flex their power and there is nothing you can do about it.
You could not see live shows and have Ticketmaster hemorrhage money, that's a good start.

Fyi, VF is open to everyone now it looks. Not much left, but still some decent 100 level singles behind stage in Austin and 200 side stage. They come and go as people cart and release them. Had my worst 10c for that show so grabbed behind stage in the 100s as a back up.

Agree, but I don’t think doing it wrong is going to happen.  They’ll make sure it’s correct.

If refunds get issued and all the $$$ stuff gets cleared up I don’t care if they take a month or two to get it correct, not because my seat will probably get better but because there was a time when you didn’t know anything other then you got tix until you picked them up the day of the concert.  It was like having a baby and not finding out the gender ahead of time, so much more exciting.  This, now, with everyone able to announce their seats, people making charts, it’s just that the magic that was a huge part of PJ, taking the time to handle it themselves, etc., is gone.  When I picked up my tickets it was part of the experience and because I didn’t know if my seat was good or bad I just knew I was going to see PJ again and in that moment, for that night, that’s what mattered.  That’s gone.

Agreed 100%. Even if tickets happened to suck, it didn’t matter because you were walking into the building and the excitement and buzz of the fans made it impossible to be disappointed.
Better not to know. There are so few surprises left in life. Let’s take them where we can get them.

Yeah, getting tickets the day of was exciting, especially the years when they randomly assigned rows 1,2,9,10. I lucked out twice and that feeling when I opened my envelope and saw my row made the whole day so awesome.
