Are any of you the same people you were in 2016?  It's called growing up. Try it sometime.
There are some internal moral compass points that last a lifetime despite “growing up.” Try them sometime.
I just used the stock answer that comes up often whenever people complain about PJ changing.

Is anyone really surprised that  a band that threw out their principles re: modestly priced tickets and good seats to long time fan club members among other things would be willing to set aside other principles?

I'm at the point that the only reason I am paying for membership is to interact on the forum with some of you.

Honestly I miss principled Pearl Jam. They made better music.

Principled, angry PJ made better music. And do you mean like the Boomers?
By boomers do you mean fans of Boom or the people that equate every crap decision PJ has made as they have "matured" as part of growing up?

The former know a good keyboard player when they hear one.  The latter... well, no mystery there.  We all know old people suck!
    except you buddy!

Awww, thanks, man!  (Truth be know, sometimes I kinda suck though )

No one asked me, but I'm sure glad PJ is giving us a little love cause boy, we need it lol sympathy for us Texans will be a hard sell in here obviously, not that we deserve it, but shit sucks out here right now. Drove to OKC last year to see them (shitty politics there too) but it feels sweeter to have them here

‘Trump Train’ convoy boyfriend and girlfriend sued under KKK Act for tailing Biden-Harris campaign bus apologize after settlement: ‘I do not feel that I was thinking’

A Donald Trump-supporting couple who joined a “Trump Train” convoy tailing a Biden-Harris campaign bus on I-35 between Austin and San Antonio, Texas, a matter of days before their candidate lost the 2020 election, have apologized as part of a settlement.

Protect Democracy, the Texas Civil Rights Project, and the law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher, who represent the plaintiffs, announced Thursday that Hannah Ceh and Kyle Kruger have apologized for their actions as the civil case against six other defendants continues on.

And beyond states with shitty policies, why not also limit those attending because many of them are probably shitty people too. Add in background and psychological checks with your lottery submission
    It's a hopeless situation...

Why is it ridiculous? They canceled a show that folks had tickets to over a law passed by an elected government. Why not publicly announce, and encourage others to do the same, of not playing states where certain citizens are treated as second or third class citizens? You want to see Pearl Jam? Travel to a state that respects and treats all its citizens as equals.

Yes because blue states whatever those are have zero bad policies and everyone is treated fairly and equitably at all times.

Would you like to post a link to a blue state’s draconian law or policy that folks are treated as less than equal by?

Whole thread is ridiculous. People worried Texas politics and laws that don't even live there. Expecting PJ to be some martyr for a political ideology. Like only people they agree with can enjoy the same music. PJ is a business and Texans are buying tickets, get over it.

What about Tori Hunter or anyone else who has been victim of Boston's affinity for racial slurs. I went to a Celtics game at the Garden in the early 2000s Paul Pierce era and heard the "N" word no less than 10 times being shouted out without anyone so much as batting an eye. Let's stop pretending policy is a reflection of the people, if it was maybe New England would practice diversity instead of talking about it.

Yeah some Swiss bankers benefited from the holocaust … so Geneva is out now.. how about Nauru?  its world's smallest island nation in the Pacific… probably not because I’m guessing they have some commercial fishing, so someone won’t like that..

Boston has had its share of race issues over the years, so I’m sure someone could start a stupid ass thread for that… hate to say this, but there are no perfect utopian countries or states..
true. But MA also legalized gay marriage over a decade ago. And offered a state version of Obamacare before Obamacare. Last time I checked, abortion was still legal there as well and they weren’t trying to make voting more difficult. And they seem to welcome immigrants and appear to do pretty well on quality of life metrics.

Most places are not perfect but some places are abhorrent. Pearl Jam used to stand for something, I can now it’s just a business. And a crappy one at that if you wander over to the tickets thread. Enjoy the show(s).

Can’t wait for the shut up and sing complaints.

at this point, if they stopped playing where there were bad policies, they'd have to stop playing half the fucking country.
As well they should. There’s enough blue states to sate the demand.
    no, they shouldn't.
It’s so funny whenever someone suggests they should only play blue states. What a ridiculous thing.

    Yea, ridiculous.
by that standard they should only be playing geneva from now on.
    Are you sure?
Yeah some Swiss bankers benefited from the holocaust … so Geneva is out now.. how about Nauru?  its world's smallest island nation in the Pacific… probably not because I’m guessing they have some commercial fishing, so someone won’t like that..

I only just learned about Nauru from this post but I am already taking a stand to never see PJ play there.

Well, it’d be a poor business decision on their part but I wouldn’t rule out travelling there. Ohana Fest West. Further West.
