Simple question...what's the thinking behind the FOUR dates in Greg Abbott's TEXAS on this minitour (AKA Florida's cousin)?
I'm old enough to remember when social issues mattered to the band more than social media.
PJ should never reward fascists.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrFOb_f7ubw

Ya better than this.
LOL.
The fact that you believe PJ is playing four concerts in Texas to "reward the fascists" is hilarious, yet sad, at the same time.
I almost feel sorry for you , delusional with this crazy idea, that Pearl Jam fans "that can drive to the show" don't want to discuss politics with you and are also rewarding the fascists and must be called out by you.
They don't want to discuss politics with you because it doesn't consume their lives, politics doesn't make up 95% of their posts on an online forum for a fan club of a band they happen to like, and they sure as fuck don't want to get accused of being called a fascist (or a racist, ot a homophobe, or a transphobe, islamaphobe, or whatever other "phobe" your ultra progressive woke mind can come up with and use as a weapon in the hopes of silencing any opposing opinions and close the door on any discussion), they just want to go see a concert is all.
If you were a true fan of this band, you would be happy for them as the other 99.5% of the members of this forum are. But you make several posts about this in different threads, then decided it deserves it's very own thread and then cry about it being moved to it's proper place on the forum because you know 90% of the member won't see it. You wear your social justice warrior badge well and want everyone to know it, don't you lol ?
Pearl Jam has always been a left leaning band. I am a registered Democrat and my beliefs also lean to the left. Do I agree with every stance Pearl Jam has ever taken? For the most part, yes, but not always. And guess what ? Opinions change all the time. Maybe PJ is playing Texas to change some minds, or maybe, just maybe, while the hope of changing peoples mind is still their in their heads, they're just playing Texas because that area of the country hasn't had arena shows in a while, and maybe Ed can mention the abortion issues at some shows down there while they're at it.
Win, win, right?
Nah, not for people like you. Scream and yell like fucking babies and assume all kinds of shit about people when you have no idea what is going thru their minds at any given time and make sure to call them at least one of the three hail marys out of the progressive playbook for dummies.
(1) A -----ist. (racist, facist, etc.)
(2) An anti ------ (feminist, semite, etc.)
(3) A -------phobe (transphobe, islamaphobe, etc.)
You have no idea why PJ hasn't played arena shows shows in Texas for quite sometime, yet in your woke delusional mind, you assume this to be because Republicans won some elections n Texas, elected are loud mouth Republican Governor and every resident is now guilty by association and as a result were being punished and cancelled by Pearl Jam. How dare they play shows there now?
Assuming is a motherfucker. And is the dominant trait of a true fascist.
Here's some food for thought while we're at it. Progressives like yourself with your cancel culture and all the other delusional bullshit (like defund the police, not going so well where I live) have hijacked the Democrat Party as your own and I no longer consider myself a Democrat because of people like you. It'll be a cold day in hell that I become a registered Republican. But when it comes down to a choice between a woke progressive Democrat vs. a Republican in any and all future elections that I'm able to take part in, Republican all the way. Just wanted you know that. I aint the only one thinking like these days either, and I say this as a 28 year proud member of the Philadelphia Democratic City Committee in Philadelphia, PA.
And if it's Biden v. Trump again ? Christ I hope not, Biden sold his soul to the progressives and ain't there mentally anymore and Trump, is same as ever asshole Trump and all the bullshit that comes with asshole Trump. But the ultra progressive woke agenda that takes priority over common fucking sense and has hijacked the Democrat Party will force me to vote for Trump. Hell, maybe I'll even move to Texas, seems to be PJ's new home base lol.First off, Hoagie, nothing I'm going to say here is or isn't in defense of ikiT.
Bold words here are yours:They don't want to discuss politics with you because it doesn't consume their lives, politics doesn't make up 95% of their posts on an online forum for a fan club of a band they happen to like,Actaully, 95% of the post on this section of the PJ forums (AMT) are related to discussing politics. I'm guessing you are not familiar with the A Moving Train section you are posting in. You also don't sound like someone who is very aware of the political stances Pearl Jam and the majority of their fans do take. You might find a Ted Nugent site more to your liking. I mean, I don't know? Just a suggestion.People like you are the true fascists.

Progressives like yourself with your cancel culture and all the other delusional bullshit...Well, holy crap man, first of all, I hope you don't have a coronary here. Maybe check out the AMT Lounge Car. It's a great place to relax and bring down the blood pressure a bit. I'm kind of rusty on CPR, but I'll buy the first round if that helps.
Secondly- and this is not a shaming thing or an attack on you, nor, again, is it a defense of another member here- but, look man, that kind of personal-attach nonsense will get you bocome oted out of here in no time. Do yourself a favor and read the forum guidelines.
I know what part of the forum I'm on, I just never post in here. And yes I know Pearl Jams politics, I just dont think they were ever punishing Texas by not playing there is all, and if you read my post you'd know what my politics are. I consider my self a liberal, always have, just not far left progressive. And if you can't tell, I kind of have of beef with them these days lol.

Hell, maybe I'll even move to Texas, seems to be PJ's new home base lol.

I'm old enough to remember when social issues mattered to the band more than social media.

I’m not getting into anyone’s fight and not taking sides, just want to tell a story.Saw EV at Pilgrimage in 2017. Kaepernick was in the news for kneeling. Tennessee is well..Tennessee. I was surprised he played there but then he came out and knelt on the stage for a bit. There wasn’t many of us clapping but I’m pretty sure he didn’t give a crap. He said what he had to say without saying a word.0

No kidding, I don't blame you. Mass shooting happen everywhere these days (there was one just this morning at my alma mater, The University of California at Chico), but especially in place likes Texas that allow open carry. It's like they are bating people to shoot 'em up. Not a good scene.

Where were the "good guys with guns" to prevent this? I know the cop eventually took him down but too late for those killed.... and of course Texas will say "mental health"... but some are just plain evil... not mentally ill.

The latest I've heard is that as of about an hour ago, the suspect in the shooting is still at large. A family member of mine is scheduled to be in Chico tomorrow and I am not at all thrilled about that, but I do think the incident is isolated enough so as to not be an issue. As for the mental illness excuse, I generally don't buy it. It''s too easy to say, "Oh, that guy was crazy. He didn't know what he was doing." Besides, I think the laws in states that allow open carry are just as crazy if not more. I can't take people seriously who think letting almost anyone who wants to be able to run around with a gun like that's going to stop the killing. It's a vicious cycle- people with guns, shootings, fear, more people with guns, more shootings, more fear, more people with guns... It just gets worse and worse.
